I’m thinking about getting this set of caps for my board to use for at least a few months until I see an amazing drop in happy with. Has anyone bought and used these? The reviews for then on their Massdrop page are overwhelmingly positive; are there any downsides that I should know about? It almost seems too good to be true!

I would save up a little bit more for pbt dye sub, but its a good price and the product is decent enough

I use a similar set of keycaps from YMDK. They're a bargain for the price. They're really good, made of PBT, yet laser printed (but for that price, who cares after all?). The lettering is decent, the keycaps themselves have no molding imperfections.

I want to order a keyboard bare bones kit, switches, and keycaps from ymdk. I was wondering if it's trustable (which I'm sure it is). Also just any advice, or experiences with ymdk. I tried looking it up and only found a several year old thread.

YMDK is alright for cheap keyboard stuff. I've purchased their stuff from both Amazon and their AliExpress page. I feel like their keycaps are a great deal for folks on a budget.

They’re basically the cheapest rung on the ladder of custom keyboards. I’d that a bad thing? Not at all! You get what you pay for, which means a nicer board than prebuilts but a less-nice board than a more expensive custom. And from what I’ve seen, they’re legitimate and trustworthy fwiw. I will say however that there are some maybe better value customs at some slightly higher price points. Like, maybe you want a specific case from ymdk, but you could get better switches, and depending on what you want you could probably get better keycaps. ymdk is the move if you have just a super hard budget. So do look around before making a decision if that’s not you.

The keycap quality is solid. They are consistently shaped, no flashing, no warping, and they fit snugly. They're nice to type on. They could be a little thicker, but I've certainly had worse. O-rings are totally worth installing on these. I have one major complaint.
