as a student who's considering Ryerson, York and Brock for computer science, how would people rate the computer science program at York? I was hoping to go to Brock but people on Reddit have been very vocal against the professors and the content that they teach there so my other 2 options are Ryerson and York. Ryerson doesn't allow students to computer science courses in spring/summer (can take electives tho) which means I can't fast track, so I was thinking of going to York. My brother went for engineering and always talks about how the computer science and engineering program is improving every year, what do you guys say?

Just graduated from the program. It's a bit of a slog the first 2 years as you go through the mandatory introductory programming courses and some pretty challenging (for me) math courses, Integral Calculus was the worst for me. The 3rd and 4th year courses open up into more interesting topics like Machine Learning and better software development practices but I would highly recommend consulting rate my prof for pretty much every eecs course. In my experience, most of the profs reuse the same material, labs and tests every year even when teaching outdated methods. Others might actually put some effort into the course and cover modern best practices which are used today. Despite its issues I do appreciate that I was able to get a degree in this field and it certainly helps with future job opportunities.

Waterloo is one the the best in North America for C.S. In hackathons they have routinely beat Ivey League U.S Schools. If you have the option, go with Waterloo, they start you out right away with building stuff, York is not bad, but honestly, if your a hard worker, you'll get frustrated with some of the 1st and 2nd year people you get teamed up with.
