Hey, I am getting the Asus Rog maximus z790 dark hero motherboard and was wondering if you need a wifi 7 router to allow this motherboard to work. If you dont need wifi 7 router then can wifi 6 work? Or does the motherboard come with wifi built into it already?
Is this the version that supports 14th gen out of box and what’s manufacturer date?
Does this motherboard support m.2 NVMe SSDs? I see the m.2 connectivity, but want to confirm that NVMe will work.
I’m building a PC for the first time ever in my life, and since I had a nice big budget to work with, I decided to just get whatever the internet said were the best components on the market today (that are compatible).

I got the Asus ROG Maximus Z790 Dark Hero motherboard, but people at other pc related subreddits have told me I spent too much on it for what I’m gonna use my pc for (I’m thinking AutoCAD, Revit, Civil 3D, Maya, Navisworks, 3ds Max, ReCap Pro, Autodesk Drive, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe InDesign, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Portfolio, SketchUp, Lumion, Unreal Engine 5 and also for gaming in general).
How can I best get my money’s worth for it? In other words, what is it about the motherboard that could justify picking it over other motherboards?
I'm going to put a i7-14700k on it. Put it on Benchmarks and its within a %1 or 2 of the i9-14900k
Also looking to run near max Ram. Getting a ROG Thor 1200w Platinum and going for 6 - 8 TB of Samsung M.2's. I want this thing to do everything in not only gaming, but to help me out with some basic CAD usage and Video Editing.
