So I’m still in the early process of setting up my pc regarding fans curves and also cpu speed.
However I’m a bit cautious over messing with the settings. I’m avoiding putting my 3900xt above 4ghz, as it sends the fans into full speed for some reason. I currently have the cpu locked at 3,900 MHz in manual and the voltage at like 1.1/1.2 (which someone told me was “crippling” the cpu as he put it)
I don’t want to push the cpu to its limit but I’m wondering what an ideal setting would be for gaming, for creativity, or maybe a general balanced setting that acts as an all rounder
This is my first pc and I’m obviously terrified of breaking anything and until I figure out the correct fan curve I need in bios I don’t feel comfortable doing much of anything. I’ve heard there is a piece of software that gives you better fan control when compared to the standard fan control in the bios but I can’t remember what it’s called. Anyway, any help is greatly appreciated :)

What is your goal with manually fiddling with the CPU? The processor can manage itself perfectly fine out if the box. There’s not much performance left untapped. If you are not experienced with overclocking, I would not recommend changing any speeds and especially voltages.

PSA: Do not use Ryzen Master to set Memory OC and Timings. If it screwed up your BIOs, reflash to fix.
Ryzen Master simply sets the memory timing settings within the AMD overclocking portion of the maze of settings. Your motherboard likely has its own section for memory timing settings, its own section for overclocking, it's own auto overclocking stuff, etc.
You just need to dig into the AMD overclocking settings section and reset the timings. Or turn off the the AMD overclocking entirely. The AMD overclocking stuff overrides the other settings on the board.

I've avoided desktop software for BIOS settings, but I still don't know what to do about multiple overclocking programs in BIOS, like AI Tweaker (Asus) vs AMD Overclocking. I haven't seen a definite answer about which is better (or worse), so I try to choose one and stick to it. When I want to go back to defaults, I hit F5 in BIOS, or reset CMOS, and hope for the best. April 23, 2022 - Don't change anything but note which cores are rated as preferred cores I think in Ryzen master they are 1-8 whereas in the BIOS and HWiNFO64 they are 0-7 so adjust by -1 accordingly. I would suggest setting the PPT, TDC and EDC values in the BIOS and setting a 50mHz PBO offset for a small boost to clocks then setting a core offset of -20 on each core in the BIOS under Curve Optimiser, -15 on the preferred 2 cores (0 if Ryzen Master said 1, 7 if Ryzen master said 8...).
