I managed to save around $10k and am looking for a car that will get the best MPG/cheapest to fuel up.

MPG is not a huge deal as in paying more for a Prius or hybrid vehicle used can come back to bite you due to battery replacement and what not. For $10k you can’t go wrong with 2012-2013 Civics and 2011-2013 Toyota Corollas. They already get 25-35 mpg or more.

You can get a (new) base level VW Jetta for around $21k, or a lightly used one in a higher trim for this price. It is very efficient and much quieter than other cars in this price bracket.
