Right. Each program/app has a purpose in life. However, I too traditionally tend to like 'lean installs'. AFAIK, none of that Dell software is required for Windows-10/11 to run properly on a Dell laptop. I haven't looked at it real close since I was trying to run it as Dell shipped it. I kinda wanted to see what that experience is like for the average user. I don't worry so much about pre-installed programs that keep to themselves (the ones that have no associated Processes and Services that are constantly running in the background).  What I like to do is observe what Processes and Services are running, before properly uninstalling it's associated program the conventional way (and rebooting). Also, interesting to see what is still left behind. Actually, it doesn't seem too bad so far. I think it might be because these recent 11th-12th Gen Intel processors are just so powerful (plenty of cores and extra processing cycles to go around). Right. I always uninstall the (paid subscription) McAfee and replace with (Microsoft developed and freely included) Windows Security and their (software based) Firewall. It also seems less intrusive. MyDell already wanted to update itself, and said something about Dell Fusion. Not sure about now or on plain Dells, but Alienware Fusion used to be a Service that exposed various Windows Settings into a centralized app (like Alienware Command Center). It sometimes got confused or caused strange system problems so I always thought it was un-necessary (or not worth the trouble).  I don't use any of the 'Driver Updater programs'. Now-days, I get my drivers from Microsoft (Windows Update) and/or Nvidia/AMD. Rarely do I need a Dell validated file. I do get my occasional firmware and BIOS updates directly from Dell Support file-area and like to install those manually and in a more-controlled way. In the BIOS, I also keep UEFI Firmware Capsule Updates DISABLED (in case Windows-Updates tries to toss me one). As I glance-down that nice list you compiled, I think these 3 listed below are the only ones I might be compelled to keep. But if they don't do anything (or just ads or apps for subscriptions and/or In-App-Purchases) I think they ultimately need to be uninstalled as well.  Dell PremierColorDolby AccessDolby Vision Extensions Some people just 'clean install' generic/genuine Windows to get rid of all the Dell (or other manufacture's) un-wanted software ... but that is a quite a bit more involved procedure (especially on a live machine). Please post any additional info you come across (that you think might be helpful to others) as you uninstall the un-wanted ones (or find actual purpose for others). Answer from Tesla1856 on dell.com

What Dell bloatware is okay to uninstall?
All of those are removable, although if it's a business or XPS laptop you may be able to use 'Dell Command | Update' in place of Dell Update which is in my opinion a much nicer solution for having automatic driver updates. Dell Digital Delivery is only used if you added software to the machine when configuring it on the Dell website (e.g. antivirus subscription or Adobe Acrobat Standard). Foundation Services is mainly for support incidents with Dell as far as I'm aware, and Help and Support is mostly useless. More on reddit.com

Can't Uninstall Dell Digital Delivery Services Solved - Windows 10 Forums
I think you need to get .msi file from somewhere. dell.d3.installer.4.0.92.0.msi Maybe can be had from dell site. https://www.dell.com/learn/us/en/04/...gital-delivery It will probabaly be in the official dell recovery media for that machine. I have that install file but it won't work despite browsing to the correct folder. I solved the problem by searching for and deleting all instances of the path shown in post 1 in the registry. Revo uninstaller was then able to remove the program and any leftovers.

r/Dell on Reddit: Why is this shit on my system?
January 26, 2026 -

Today after a BIOS update from Windows Update and a reboot, I got a popup window from Dell Connected Service Delivery asking if I was ok sharing some usage data with Dell.

This happened on a Dell XPS 13 9350 on which I clean installed Windows using the Microsoft ISO after nuking every single existing partition, especially recovery ones. Needless to say, I did this precisely because I do not want Dell's shit and I did not install it myself.

Now I go check my installed apps and I get a bunch of Dell stuff: WHY IS IT THERE?

Hello Sugram,

Thank you for posting your query in Microsoft Community Forum.

Let me ask you;

  • Are you experiencing any issue on the computer due to Dell Digital Delivery Service?

Dell Digital Delivery is a service which enables you to purchase software at the time you order your computer and then download and install it automatically once you receive the computer and connect to the internet.

When your new computer is powered on for the first time, you will be walked through the regular computer setup including connecting to the internet. The second time the computer is powered on, the Dell Digital Delivery helper application already installed on your computer will run automatically. Dell Digital Delivery will begin downloading and installing your purchased software a few minutes after the computer is started for the second time. At the time Dell Digital Delivery launched, you will have the option to Download Now or Remind Me Later. If you choose Remind Me Later this option will appear the next time the computer is started and on subsequent re-starts until you decide to download the software you purchased.

Such software is installed by the manufacture when delivering the PC to the end user.

If you are facing difficulties using the service or you do not want it, you may uninstall it from the computer: Right click Start > Control Panel > Programs & Features> right click Dell Digital Delivery Service and click Uninstall.

Note: Prior to uninstalling the service and for more information, you may refer to:***Dell Digital Delivery***

Also, you may contact **Dell Support** for more information.

Hope this information is helpful. Please feel free to reply in case you face any other issues with Windows in future.

Thank you.

Hello Sugram,

Thank you for keeping us updated.

As per the manufacturer, it may be necessary. As per the user (you), it may not be. I would have uninstalled the program as I would not make any purchases in future.

As it is the option provided by the computer manufacture, I would suggest you to check with Dell if you can go ahead with uninstallation.

Please feel free to reply in case you face any other issues with Windows in future.

Thank you.
