This thread prompted me to call Dell Tech Support and ask. Tech Support said I can remove everything except Dell SupportAssist since everything is now included in Dell SupportAssist, which makes sense when you look inside Dell SupportAssist. So, I have uninstalled the following via Control Panel\Programs and Features and restarted when done: Dell Digital Delivery Services (no Dell software purchased)Dell Mobile Connect Drivers (no mobile devices connecting to Windows)Dell SupportAssist RemediationDell Update - SupportAssist Update PluginDell Update for Windows 10 This leaves Dell SupportAssist still installed and working to get device driver updates automatically and/or manually. No mess, no fuss, no micro-freezes. Edit:  A Dell automatic update today, 3/16/20, updated Dell SupportAssist installed 1/24 191 MB 3.4.1.49 to 3/16 177 MB 3.4.5.366 without incident. Edit:  When I first got the machine, I uninstalled McAfee antivirus and the Killer Control Center.  To uninstall Killler, you run Rivet Networks' uninstaller and then re-install their drivers only package.  And I uninstalled a few other junk apps in the Start Menu. I have this issue as I recently updated a Dell lappy Latitude 5420 (no AV, not joined Domain) and reinstalled the Dell command update 6.4.

I ran the Dell command update which updated the BIOS and a few other components (total 6)

• BIOS 1.4 to 1.61
• Embedded controller 1.06 to 1.07.

I performed a full backup using Veeam agent for windows to a USB HDD.

Then as playing around with 2 other new notebooks (Dell lappy Latitude 5420), I decided to restore them to the config as per the backup.

I use Bare Metal restore to “restore” the 2 other lappy, change hostname and rebooted…then I ran Dell command update but it shows no updates (even when things like BIOS is still at 1.4).

So I am guessing that there is some sort of cache to clear for Dell command update ?

Dell SupportAssist Remediation is a software tool provided by Dell to help diagnose and resolve issues with your Dell computer. If you wish to uninstall it, you can follow these steps: Option 1: Uninstall via Windows Settings Press Windows Key + I to open the Windows Settings. Click on 'Apps' or 'Apps & Features' depending on your Windows version. In the list of installed applications, locate 'Dell SupportAssist Remediation' or similar Dell SupportAssist components. Click on it to select it. Click the 'Uninstall' button. Follow the on-screen prompts to complete the uninstallation process. Option 2: Uninstall via Control Panel (for older Windows versions) If you're using an older version of Windows that doesn't have the Settings app, you can use the Control Panel: Press Windows Key + R to open the Run dialog. Type 'control' and press Enter to open the Control Panel. In the Control Panel, select 'Programs' or 'Programs and Features' (the wording may vary depending on your Windows version). Find 'Dell SupportAssist Remediation' or any related Dell SupportAssist programs in the list of installed programs. Click on it to select it. Click the 'Uninstall' button. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the uninstallation. After completing either of these methods, Dell SupportAssist Remediation should be removed from your system. Make sure to restart your computer if prompted to do so after the uninstallation process is finished. Please note that if you're using Dell SupportAssist as part of Dell's comprehensive support suite and you're having issues with it, you might consider contacting Dell support for assistance with troubleshooting or resolving any problems you're experiencing. Uninstalling Dell SupportAssist Remediation should only be done if you're certain you no longer want it on your system.

Had a simaler issue myself. I was still able to remove it from the settings menu. I found that getting the IdentifyingNumber was more effective with msiexec.exe. I was using this with a deployment system to remove and update Dell command update.
