List of Dr Debug BIOS Codes - Motherboards - Level1Techs Forums
March 28, 2017 - Recently I was busy troubleshooting an issue with my ASRock mainboard and Ryzen and I needed to lookup some of the Mainboard debug display error codes. As It turns out there aren’t really any official manuals I could find for this. So here are my debug codes that I could find and what they mean.

Anyone familiar with asrock dr. Debug codes? My motherboard, brand new,, is cycling thru 00, 0F, 7F, never settles on one

https://imgur.com/a/NpoQc2z

I had newgg send me a 2nd motherboard and i returned the first as that one was doing the same thing. Chances are 2 motherboards are bad is slim, I would think, so is there something in doing wrong?

Ive taken out all memory to see if it settled on error code 53 but it still cycled, albeit it did have 53 in the cycle

Ive uninstalled and reinstalled the cpu countless times. No pins are bent.

Ive cleared CMOS after each time.

According to this website (2017), the error codes are:

00 - not used

0F - microcode not loaded

7F - Reserved for future AMI DXE codes

My Setup:

ASROCK Z690 Taichi MB

Intel 12900KF

Corsair Dominator DDR5

ML360 Illusion AIO

2x asrock radeon 6900 XT

This is a new build, X870E Nova WiFi, AMD 9800X3D, Corsair Dominator DDR5 RAM, 2X 32 GB sticks. I do not have XMP enabled, it is set to standard in BIOS and Task Manager shows 4800 MT/s with 61.6 GB available.

As the title says, the Dr. Debug code changes fairly constantly during bootup. It is currently going between 44, 45, 46, 46, 47, 48, 49, 50, 51, 52 and probably others I am missing, in random order. I saw a few 60s last bootup I'm sure. Restarting does not stop this. The system itself seems to be running fine- I'm posting this from the computer. Games run, I'm connected to the internet, the machine is not laggy.

The internet says these codes are primarily related to the RAM possibly being bad. I don't really know where to start with this, the last time I built a computer it just all worked and I got to AA on first bootup.

Edit: I forgot to say I tried reseating the RAM, which did nothing.

Edit 2: After posting this, I tried resetting the CMOS for old time's sake. Now after boot the display just says 00.

r/techsupport on Reddit: Motherboard Diagnostics Help – Dr. Debug Code 5F (Asrock Taichi x570)

Hello fellow redditors. I have posted this in r/buildapc as well. I humbly come before you today in hopes that the reddit community might endow me with the grace that is the unfathomable wisdom of the reddit community, should you decide that I am worthy. Google, unfortunately, decided no such thing and so now I sit here before you, thumb fully up ass.

Now that that's out of the way, lets get to the issues... WHAT THE FUCK DOES A "5F" DR. DEBUG CODE MEAN AND HOW DO I FIX IT?! 😰

So how did we get here, you ask? No worries, I'll fill you in.. probably with more details than you wanted, but my adderall is kicking in so here goes. Back in May, I built my very first PC (hardware components listed below). After sorting out some initial difficulties, she ran beautifully for about a month. I got roped into house sitting for my parents for a week. Naturally I decided to pack up my new rig in styrofoam and take it with me on my 3 hour drive, so that my eyes would not go hungry for their daily dose of UltraWide HD (I mean what else could I do, return to a 16:9 aspect ratio?). Ready to show my baby off, I hunt down a surge protector, connect all the wires, and call the 'rents into the room. As the power is turned on to the PC, the motherboard RGBs light up, as does my AMD CPU cooling fan, all good so far. Busy trying to hide my throbbing penis from my mother, it takes me a second to realize that there is no HDMI output to my monitor. Upon closer inspection, I spot a Dr. Debug code – 5F – displayed on the motherboard. Instantly flaccid. My parents, completely unimpressed, remind me that I'm still disappointment (nobody likes change, right?). After a session of extensive Google searching and a popping a few beta blockers for the resulting blood pressure spike, I retreat and pack my tower back up. When I got back home the next week though, there was apparently no problem!! She worked:-)

Well, not quite. I discovered that the problem is intermittent. By this, I mean that it works fine sometimes. At other seemingly-random times though, it returns. Anecdotally, I've found that unplugging all peripherals and the power cable seems to sometimes fix the issue. Probably coincidence. This has been going on awhile now, which has given me the opportunity to observe the start-up cycle through the Dr. Debug codes in both scenarios. One thing that I've noticed is that if the cycle proceeds from 61 to 62, the computer will work. If it stalls at 61, it then goes to 5F and my monitor never lights up. I'm not sure if this is helpful at all. I have sporadically seen other "not working" codes; some I can't remember, but I know that 30 is one of them.

A search for this code shows that the 5F Dr. Debug code is "Reserved for future AMI error codes" – What does this even mean?! My complete build is listed below the Dr. Debug cycles I typically see.

When the PC works fine, it cycles through a series of codes that ends like:

15β†’[...]β†’33β†’61β†’62β†’99β†’00β†’**[enters start up]**

When the PC does NOT work fine, the cycle goes like:

[...]β†’33β†’63β†’61β†’πŸ˜πŸ˜πŸ˜β†’ 5F

Motherboard: ASRock X570 Taichi CPU: Ryzen 7 3800X CPU Cooler: came stock with CPU PSU: Corsair RM650 gold SSD: Sabrent Rocket NVMe 4.0 1TB GPU: MSI Gaming GeForce GT 710 2GB RAM: Vengence LPX 32GB (2x16GB)

TL;DR My x570 Taichi motherboard randomly displays a Dr. Debug "5F" code and will not send signal to monitor. There is always a startup cycle through various codes that more or less always goes from 61 to 62 close to the end. If the PC decides to cooperate, it will transition from 61 to 62, then to 98, and then the PC boots and no code is displayed. If it is not going to work, it will transition from 61 to a lingering 5F. This occurred for the first time after transporting my PC, but it suffered no obvious problem-causing blows and has worked about 60%-70% of the time since then.

r/techsupport on Reddit: Dr Debug 00, powering on but won't post
July 12, 2019 -

I've been putting together a computer for the first time today, and I've ran into a big issue. My motherboard is a z390 taichi from asrock, and my cpu is a 9900kf. When powering on, the fans spin, the watercooler starts pumping, and the lights turn on, but doesn't post and spits out the error code 00 on Dr Debug.

According to the motherboard manual, 00 means a cpu problem, and advises to check the cpu and reset the cmos. I've taken the cpu out and put it back in twice, it can't possibly be wrongly installed. The arrow is lined up, and its very snug over the socket. I've just been taking the cmos battery out every time to reset it, so it can't be that.

I'm reusing storage drives from my old, prebuilt computer, that ran on a gigabyte made x370 chipset. I don't really understand drivers and the software side, but is that possibly the problem? It has windows 10, but gigabyte drivers for an amd board, and I'm not sure if that would be a problem.

https://imgur.com/gallery/IAd9F14

I've plugged the cpu power cable in and out of the motherboard, no luck. I put the powercable in a different cpu socket on my psu, still no luck. I'm at a loss for what I fucked up here.

Hi all! I recently upgraded my mobo from an asrock b450m steel legend to the x570 taichi. Everything is going well and im in bios, however im getting the code 98 on my little dr debug thing. I looked it up in the manual and it translates to "DXE_CON_IN_CONNECT" Anyone know what that means? I don't have any storage plugged in right now if that helps. Sorry if this is a repost but I couldn't find it anywhere Thanks.
