What keeps me from using Gmail products is the fact that anytime I try to log in from a computer that itsn't mine, it locks me out despite the fact that I've given the correct password. I don't have a static phone number because I don't always pay for phone service. I only do so periodically. Is there a way I can use google drive where my password alone will be enough to log in ANYWHERE?

EDIT : it turns out that the Google Sheet owner, from his own admission, made a mistake - no clue what mistake - when reassigning permission to "anybody with the link can access". After his correction, I now don't have any problem accessing it directly, whether or not I am logged as a Google Account owner. End of story. I'll probably delete this thread today since it is now completely baseless.

Regardless of how I try, even in incognito mode, Google insists on forcing me to sign into one of my Google accounts if I want to access a Google Sheet, whose owner has, however, set permission to "anybody with the link can access". It seems that Google does not want Google account owners to avoid signing in in this context. It implies that they detect Google account owners by their IP and, incidentally, that they file and log Internet users' activities by their IP. Which is not surprising.

If I use a proxy server, Google displays an alert asking me to enter an email address, which reveals to be a first step in creating a Google account, but then refuses to validate it ("Sorry, we could not create your Google Account."). Hé hé... clever Google....

So is there a way to collaborate anonymously to a Google Sheet/Doc whose owner dispatch a "anyone with the link can access" link? and if so, please describe it!

that is not the case, most likely you are browsing from an "untrusted" browser/agent, or "less secure" app/mobile browser view, or a browser that resist fingerprinting like librewolf, otherwise, me and my teams are doing just fine on a anyone with link can EDIT.

I need a spreadsheet to organize some MMO raid nights and I'd like to avoid doing it on Google Docs if possible. Is there a good alternative for online shared spreadsheets that's FOSS or at least respectful of me and my group's privacy.

EDIT : Ended up going with cryptpad.fr, seems quite good so far. Thanks for the many suggestions.

If you’re into self hosting, you can make a nextcloud instance. It has “onlyoffice” included. You can basically have on premises Google docs / sheets / drive.

You can write a stand-alone script and build a trigger yourself:

If you set the sharing permission for the spreadsheet to "Anyone with the link can edit", every user (including anonymous) editing the spreadsheet will cause the trigger to run. Just make sure that after writing the script you run it once manually, after this it will run automatically on every edit.
