Hi, I’m Nicole, I’ll be happy to help you out today.
There are a few different ways you can control the fan speed on a Windows laptop without having to make permanent changes to the system. Here are a few options:
Adjust power settings: You can also try adjusting your laptop's power settings to reduce the workload on the CPU and other components, which may cause the fans to spin less frequently or at a lower speed. You can do this by going to Control Panel > Power Options and selecting a power plan that is optimized for battery life or reducing the performance of the system.
Clean the laptop's fans: Over time, dust and debris can accumulate inside your laptop's fans, causing them to spin faster and louder than necessary. If your laptop is out of warranty, you can try opening it up and cleaning the fans yourself using compressed air or a soft brush. Be careful not to damage any components while doing this.
You can also follow the procedure on the link below.

How the hell do i change fan speed on my laptop??

Fan Speed - What do you guys use to control your laptop Fans speeds ?
Need some help on how to control fan speed
I use Silent Option to control my GS65 9SD fans. It allows for more fan speed customizations without the bloatware Dragon Center has e.g. Gaming Center, Voice Boost etc. It's easier to use too. Give it a shot. As for Undervolting, use ThrottleStop. XTU is easier to set up BUt I ran into some problems upon booting. Sometimes the undervolt does not apply, it just resets back to stock. ThrottleStop may look daunting but it's better by a long margin. There are tutorials on how to set it up.

Hi
I'm wondering what software (if any) do you guys use to control the fan speed curve of your laptops ? My G3 THROTTLES LIKE HELL, and i'd like to set that to max fan speed and reduce throttling.
Many people complain about overheating problem with the DV7, problems that sometimes are not even solved with cooling pads or additional fans.
The solutions range is not very comprehensive :
- Overheating Problem on Pavillion dv7-1270ca blames HP for poor design
- HP Pavilion DV7-2070eg fan noise & CPU overheating uses direct physical contact to cool the AC unit
- HP Pavilion Dv 7, Heat Problems claims it is a driver problem that causes the CPU to overwork. This can be easily verified using the Task Manager. In this article the Sound driver is said to be the cause.
HP Pavilion dv7 notebook running way too hot recommends getting from Cool Master a 3-fan cooler that can be targeted on the hot spots, as well as another much more drastic solution:

Have you ever cleaned out the fan or air duct? Most times this gets so filled with dust that air cannot pass through it very well.
I would suggest then also seeing if there is an update for your bios, this might give you more features or controls
then I would consider updating drivers for your graphics card and possibly doing things like disabling aero, etc...
I have a compaq laptop that had Vista on it, the fan was always on full speed, I installed linux on it and something seemed odd and I couldnt figure out what it was until I heard the fan turn on for a few minutes and then turn off... It ran WAY cooler under linux where it wasnt constantly taxing the GPU and CPU.
If this still doesnt seem to do the trick for you, get one of them laptop fan pads that has fans built into the bottom of it that you can set your laptop on. Although bulky and not idea, it will help keep your laptop usable.
I have a gigabyte G5 KF, i tried using gcc, but it said its not supported with this laptop, and then i tried FanControl, but that didnt work either...
