Change settings in UEFI/BIOS setup utility
You can make a permanent change on boot devices in the UEFI/BIOS setup utility. Select the Boot menu; in the EFI section, select the desired boot device and move it to the top of the device list. Save changes and exit the setup utility for the change to take effect. For some Lenovo computers with always-on connectors, the always-on function can be enabled or disabled in the UEFI/BIOS setup utility.
Help! Reset BIOS settings without being able to use SETUP
u/9551-eletronics Hi, I understand how frustrating it can be when your setup screen freezes, but I'm here to help you troubleshoot and reset your BIOS settings. If your computer still boots and outputs to an external display, please follow these steps: First, try clearing the CMOS to restore the default BIOS/UEFI values. This can usually be done by using a jumper on the motherboard or, in some cases, through an optional front operator LCD panel. Clearing the CMOS will reset all BIOS settings to their factory defaults, which can often resolve issues caused by incorrect configurations that lead to system hangs or frozen screens. If you're able to access the BIOS Setup utility, you can press F9 to load optimal defaults, then press F10 to save and exit. This will ensure that all settings are returned to their default state. If you're using an external display and can't see the BIOS or POST messages, please make sure the display is connected directly to the PCIe graphics card output (not the motherboard video ports). Some systems require this connection to access the BIOS Setup utility. For systems where the BIOS or boot information does not show on the external display, you can enter the BIOS, navigate to the Display section, and set the Boot Display Device to External Display. Additionally, set Boot Time Extension to 10 seconds, then save and exit. This should allow the BIOS information to appear on the external monitor after reboot. Please keep us posted on whether these steps were helpful. -Kate_Lenovo More on reddit.com

July 12, 2021 - I second the suggestion to go to the model's eSupport page. Read the ReadMe file for the BIOS level to be installed. Unless there's some compelling reason to install it, I'd wait a month or so to ensure that there aren't any issues with the update.
