There are times where it may need to be reviewed which could take a few business days. But overall, it's not a difficult ordeal. Don’t call or send a secure message to request one unless you don’t mind a hard pull on your credit. First increase has to be after 91 days and 3 full 30 day statements. After that, every 182 days. I've never had an increase. Good/ great credit. Several loans paid off. Never. But others get them religiously.

I posted my journey before, but I'll post it again. I got my first card with Navy Federal 3 days after joining. With only $5 in my savings account that I had to put in when I joined. It was a $1,000 More Rewards. By following the 91/3 rule, I ended up with three cards. My second card was $11,000 Go Rewards, and the third card was a $20,000 Cash Rewards. And after nine increases on those three cards. I hit the $80,000 max credit limit in only a little over 18 months. I didn't wait around for Navy Federal to get off the couch and give me an increase. I asked as soon as I was eligible. Oh, by the way, there is still only $5 in my savings account that I had to put in when I joined. I don't use Navy Federal as a bank at all. I use them only for their credit products. I also was approved for two $20,000 loans, one for a side-by-side and the other for a truck. Before I got the loans for the side by side I did a 6-month pledge loan when that one ended I did a 3-year pledge loan. I've only been with Navy Federal for a little over 5 years

I'm curious on how to request a credit limit increase on the navy federal app so I don't receive a hard pull, and how much should I request for? I just crossed over the 3 statement mark, but will probably wait another 10 days or so before requesting a limit increase to increase chances. (navy federal platinum card $500 limit, internal score 261, e-checking, share savings account, 2 certificates open )

758 score, Applied for new card* Flagship AMEX, auto accepted at 20k, immediately asked for CLI from my 6k to 14k total, auto accepted on app. (must wait 6 months between) if navy credit limit is 5k or under, ask for 3x limit. If over 5k as for 8k increase so 8+5+13k

In the app select the card. Just under the make payment button select manage card. Select increase credit limit. Follow the prompts. Navy CLI requests through the app are soft pull EQ9. As far as amount, the max CLI Navy will approve in one shot is still the lesser of 3x your credit limit or $8K based on recent DP’s. Doesn’t hurt to ask for the max. Navy will counter offer for a lesser amount if they can’t approve the full thing.

Hey all, I recently requested a credit increase on my credit card through navy federal and I have yet to receive an approval or even a denial letter from them. It’s been a few weeks so I’m confused. I also had mentioned it to them when I went to get my new debit card from them and still nothing. Any suggestions on this?

Requested too early. When I didn’t hear back it was because I requested too early. I just requested again at the appropriate time.

This isn’t normal. If it’s not instant, it shouldn’t ever rake more than 24/48 hours. Did you submit the request on line? If so, did you get any kind of message saying it was being considered? If not, it could be a glitch in the system where it never went through. What did they say when you went into the branch? As long as you put in the request on line or through the app, it should be a soft pull (vs a hard pull if you call), so you have nothing to lose by trying again. Some people request a day or two too soon before 91/3 or 182, get turned down, request again a day or two later and get approved.
