Win 10 will recognize the UPS if you use the USB cable that comes with the UPS. It is limited compared to the Powerchute software but will do the basic stuff like shut down the computer in case of a prolonged outage. More on reddit.com

Using the UPS to keep one computer going in the security guard shack here at our site. The only programs ever run on this PC are Excel, Outlook, and the Access Control Manager which is linked to a server in a different building. The computer is the only thing connected. Do I need to use PowerChute? Will it work without it? The UPS isn't for prolonged use, it's just to give enough time to save work and shutdown normally in the event of an outage.

Windows will have a battery icon in the system tray if it has detected the UPS. My Smart-UPS 1500 via USB is detected in Windows without needing any software.
