I have the original MPK Mini Play. I can't find the MPK Mini Play Editor software anymore on the MPK Mini Software Manager. I only see the Editor for MK2 and MK3.
Does anyone have the .exe for the original MPK Mini Play editor (not the MK2 or MK3)? There doesn't seem to be any way to download it anymore. The MK2 editor does not seem compatible.

Disclaimer: I am a complete beginner in this world, I just have a love for music. So I recently purchased a new akai mpk mini and in order to download the software it comes with I needed to make an inMusic account to register my hardware and access the downloads that came with it. However, when I downloaded the inMusic software center it seems to not be able to connect to the servers because of my internet connection? I just downloaded this software on my internet which is working perfectly fine, I have no idea where to go from here (I am working on a 2020 MacBook Pro)
Hi, beginner and I saw the AKAI MPK Mini MK3 was good for my budget, and people seemed to have pretty positive reviews, but now, does it come with a software, or works with a free software, because buying a $100 and the keyboard is a lot for me, since I'm just looking to make simple Nintendo like music for projects
. been using the MPC beats software if came with, but that's not that good for actually making songs and stuff. I have a windows PC, so GarageBand is out of the question. i tried the FL Studio free try it out thing, but its UI/interface is kinda confusing, and you cant save stuff. just need something free, simple and easy to use to get into making music. thanks!
My youngest son is 12 years old and is very interested in electronic music production. He's been messing with various apps on his phone for a while now, so I decided to surprise him and step him up to something a little more "real" and ordered the Akai MPK Mini for him. It supposedly came with all the software you need, but the MPC Essentials doesn't allow any sort of multi-track work, just one track, so as far as I can tell it is absolutely useless for actually making a song. The two plugins it came with seem cool, though.
So, I moved on and downloaded Pro Tools First. Seemed good, but crashes a lot, then I learned that the First version doesn't allow any third party plugins, so the ones that came with the Mini won't work.
There are so many DAWs out there, I don't even really know where to go from here. He doesn't need anything overly complicated at this point. The ability to stack tracks so he can make a song would be essential. Support of third party plugins would be great, but not STRICTLY essential if the DAW came with a selection of its own instruments / drumkits.
He is super excited to have this and I am pretty bummed at how difficult it has been to just "make it work" so to speak. Does anyone have any advice or points or suggestions on a good DAW package for him? I don't mind spending a little more money if one isn't free, but I'd like to not have to spend too much.
The computer we are using is a very solid laptop. 9th gen i7 processor, 16 gigs of ram, solid state drive, Geforce GTX 1660, so the machine itself should be perfectly capable of handling some basic EDM production.
Thank you so much for your help and any advice you can give. Please let me know if you need any more information.
i just aquired an Akai MPK mini and although it comes with some nice software to program it ive heard that it works better coupled with a nice DAW. ive used it in Fruity loops FPC plugin breifly but i can only set the pads and not the keys. Can anyone who's used this before tell me what software was used?
