To replace the board with an aftermarket ATX board will require a new case. If you have the original memory, put it in and disconnect all other devices including USB devices and do a CMOS reset by removing the coin cell battery. It's not uncommon for aftermarket memory to act up, even if they have been working fine for months before. Thank you for the reply, and yes I am aware that I will need to change the case and PSU, most of the testing I did with the original memory and the only USB devices that where plugged in where mouse,keyboard and the thumb drive when it didn't work without it (just pressing CTRL+ESC). Didn't try doing the reset without the battery so I'll try that this evening when I get home.

The oem Kingston memory in my R10 did support 3200Mhz but with slow timings. I use CRUCIAL BALLISTX memory now and it runs without any issues with 3200Mhz and timings of 16-18-18-36. But as Vanadiel said the Auroras are quite picky with the RAMs.

Sorry, I didn’t get back to this forum because I solved the issue. Basically, I have to remove all 4 RAM sticks (Crucial Ballistix), and put the original Dell RAM sticks for it to work. Then I removed the original RAM, and installed the Crucial Ballistix RAM & it worked like charm. Every once in a while it does the same thing, and I have redo the whole steps again to get it to work. This will be the last time I ever buy Dell products.

You can look up the error code in the owners manual. Remove the new RAM and power on. If everything works then clearly the issue is with the new RAM. Before reseating it make absolutely sure you bought the correct DIMMs

Computer is pretty new (around a month), all been going really well. However i decided to turn off my overclocking on the CPU (using the Alienware command center) as ive been reading its not worth doing (i have a 5800x). It asks me to restart my computer and now it will not boot up. The alineware head flashes twice and then once. I spoke to customer care and they are going to send someone but it wont be till next week, the flashing light combo means a CPU problem. I tried power cycling and trying to get into BIOS but neither thing works. Anyone have any ideas or do i just need to wait for the engineer to come and replace my CPU? The CPU was working really well before, i cant see how it would break by me just turning of the auto boost?

Hi! Had the same issue. You can either turn off all overclocking (cpu and memory) or just the memory but not just the processor. Otherwise it will end up not booting anymore. Try to reset your bios ( https://www.google.com/search?q=reset+bios&oq=reset+bios&aqs=chrome..69i57j0l4.3485j0j4&client=ms-android-huawei-rev1&sourceid=chrome-mobile&ie=UTF-8 ) After that it should boot again. Then you can enter and choose the lowest oc option for cpu. I have no explanation for that and it's also just my very own experience. Good luck!

that light combo is definitely not a hardware issue with the CPU. You can check what the lights mean in the service manual and neither 1 flash or 2 flash is a CPU hardware issue, so dont stress about your CPU needing to be replaced. Try resetting the CMOS. Page 106 in the service manual tells you how to do it, its really simple. If you turned on the RAM overclock I would bet thats what caused this. I noticed when I turned it on that it would throw off a bunch of Windows Hardware Errors in HWInfo, meaning that its unstable. I just overclocked my RAM in the the BIOS, which was also very simple.

After trying to turn on my pc it doesn’t turn on but it does emits one yellow blinking light every 5 seconds. My power supply is getting power because the green light lights up when I press the button on the back. I researched the diagnostic codes and according to the website it means “bios and rom failure”. I took it to the shop and they had it up and running immediately. My computer was working fine after that for a few days and then it started messing up again by not Turning on and blinking one yellow light again. I haven’t took it back to the shop because I managed to get it back up and running a few times on my own, But do anyone have any suggestions on how to fix this issue ? Idk what’s causing this is happen. And what does bios and rom failure means?

I had that happen once about a month or two after I got it. Unplugged the power source waited a minute, plugged back in and never had that issue again. Think it happened when I put it into sleep mode. And now never have put it to sleep again, tho never need to anyways. Just power down when I'm done playing. Not sure if that well help your issue, but worked for me.

So I’m trying to upgrade my R6 from a i7-7700 to an i7-7700k and once I replaced the cpu every time i go to boot up I get 4 yellow blinking lights. When I swap back to the 7700 the system just constantly restarts. Any idea on what may be going on, or possible solutions?

I am not sure but I think it was 3,1 which would be cmos. But if I switch ram slots fro. 2/4 to 1/3 I get no blinking lights so I could be wrong on the color. I was using g skill ripjawsv 3600mhz. I have the original ram as well and put that back in but I can't get anything to come on the screen. Last time this happened I changed the frequency ram to the wrong on in bios and did a cmos reset and worked fine. For some reason when I tried shutting down I got a grey screen so idk what happened.
