What can be the reason behind it? I don't have any major debts and always clear my card payment on time.
I have a Chase Sapphire card. Can it be the reason?
Update: surprise! Although the pre approval didn't work the actual card application did. I got my card
I want to get the Amazon Prime Visa Credit card and have a few questions and here's a little background.
I have never had a credit card for a full day except a Macy's one I canceled on the same day but never received the physical card.
My Credit score is only 662 with only 1 line of credit ever from a 5 year car loan that I paid off without any problems. I had one Macy's Credit card that I canceled on the same day 5+ years ago and it's just sitting there as a closed account still.
I paid off my car years ago and my credit score has been sitting around the same number for years.
I want the Amazon Prime Visa Credit Card because I shop a lot on Amazon and want that 5% back savings and I'll be traveling a lot soon and want that 1% for any other purchases and I want to start building my credit with my first ever credit card. I want a credit card to fall back on incase I need it for an emergency. And I can use it for savings at Whole Foods and to save 2% on gas.
I've read that a 670 score is the minimal requirement and that 700+ score is recommended by experts to get the card.
Do I have to pay for the yearly Amazon Prime membership to get the Prime Visa or can I pay for the monthly plan to get it still?
I don't have a Chase online account either and no Chase bank account, does that matter? I have a bank I've been using for over 10 years and I have a Chime checking and savings account, too. I'm happy with my current bank (it's not a federal credit union) and with my Chime account.
Should I do a pre-qualify check or just go straight into a hard check if I qualify?
Should I make an account to try to get the card on the Amazon website first or on the Chase.com website first? What's the correct order and place to first sign up to try to get a Prime Visa Credit Card?
Should I try to get a different first credit card like the Chase Freedom Rise card at a local Chase building before doing all of this? I don't want a Chase bank account still. It'd be so nice to skip any other card and get the Prime Visa first but maybe I'm thinking about this all wrong.
Thanks so much. (:

I was pre qualified for the Amazon Prime Visa, how likely am I to get accepted if I do apply? Does the pre-qualification mean anything?
As the title says I was pre-approved for the Amazon chase card . I applied and the application got denied . I don’t understand why tho.
How accurate is the pre approval tool on Amazon.com for their credit cards? I applied and excepted 2 cards on Jun 1st and it says I’m pre approved but don’t think I’ll get approved.
So I’m wondering what the likelihood of me getting approved for the Amazon Prime credit card. I don’t have a credit score, but I have had roughly a year of banking with Chase (not sure if that changes anything even though Chase is the bank for the card) and make roughly 39k a year.
I already know that there isn’t much of a chance of getting approved, but I’m just curious.
Greetings to all,
I was instantly approved for the Amazon signature visa a few days ago. I had not planned to get the card but was buying gifts for Christmas and kept seeing the apply and get $150 gift card. My credit score is bad(630-650) due to high utilization, which will be coming down significantly on next billing statements as I have paid most completely. Therefore, my score should be returning to 730-750 as before. I have already used the $150 gift and charged additional $18 to the Visa card, as it is already in my Amazon payment account.
My question is, if I was instantly approved for the card, with such a low score, can they decide not to issue it or cancel it before sending the physical card?
i applied for an amazon visa credit card not so long ago but i still haven’t heard anything and i don’t see anywhere in amazon or in the chase app to see status or ask about it. i went to a chase bank in person and they said they can’t help and that i have to call the online number to get info bc amazon is a third party. i tried calling but it asks for a credit card number which i obviously don’t have yet. what do i do?
Just got approved for Amazon prime card. $24,000 credit limit, $150 dollar Amazon gift card sign up bonus.
23 YO 730 Credit score $80,000/year income
$63,500 total credit limit of all combined cards before Prime card application
Seems like a decent card if you shop on Amazon. 5% back when shopping on Amazon with $0 annual fee.
I somewhat new to building credit and now that my credit history has reached 6 months i thought i would get approved. I paid for the credit score update through experian, i have a 719 with experian, 716 with equifax and 717 with transunion. I just got approved for the Apple card and i only have two other credits cards so i'm well within the 5/24 rule. I also have 100% on time payments and i haven't taken out any loans or anything like that, i keep my credit utilization under 20%. I will call the recon line tomorrow, but maybe you guys could tell me why i might have been denied?
Update 9/20/22: I tried the reconsideration line and they approved me for the Amazon Prime Rewards Visa as recommended by u/Wooden_Albatross_832 over the Store card. Thanks for all the help guys <3

Not the Visa one. I don't plan on using it at all, I just want the $150 gift card.
Any drawbacks?
They have a $250 gift card offer on and I make a ton of purchases on Amazon like groceries, etc, especially since winter is here.
I have a 718 credit score (vantage 3.0 by Experian - not sure how trustworthy it is), but have had credit for only 3 months since I moved here abroad.
I’ve had only one card (Chase Freedom Rise - with 10% utilization monthly and balance paid fully and on time) for 2 months.
I have a Chase checkin account as well. Am not sure if it changes anything but I read on another thread that it might help.
Am I going to get declined for such a short credit journey? Or do you think I have a fair chance?
Since I’m building credit am wary a denial will bring the number down, so wanna know my odds! Thanks 🫡
So I wanted to see if anyone could give me the odds on the approval rates for the amazon prime visa. I have a 730 for my experian score, 753 on my transunion and all my credit cards have been paid off. I only have one loan but I’ve been paying more than the monthly and am months ahead of my payments (It’s not a crazy loan under 3k). I’ve applied already and just waiting for a response. I don’t really think I could get it, but I was wondering if anyone could tell me about their experience of getting it.
I was spamming the pre-approval tool (I’m a sucker for those) and after not being pre-approved a bunch of times, I was able to breakthrough.
Credit score: 670 range
Credit Cards:
Langley Platinum Essential Visa (January 2023) - $1,000 limit
Chase Freedom Unlimited (January 2023) - $500 limit
Credit history: More than a year and a half old (no missed payments)
I was approved for a $2,000 limit and the $150 gift card (I heard some people have the $100 offer, so this was worth noting I believe).
Hope this helps!
I've been thinking of applying for the Amazon Visa credit card for a while now, but now that they're doing the limited time $200 SUB, I've been thinking of applying for it now. Before I apply for it, I tried checking if I'm pre-qualified on Amazon's website, but I keep getting the following message when I try it:
"Unfortunately, we were unable to process your pre-qualification request at this time because we were unable to obtain your credit report."
Does anybody know why I would be getting this message and why they (presumably Chase) were unable to obtain my credit report? My credit report isn't locked/frozen, and I tested out AMEX's pre-qualification tool on their website just to see if they could pull my credit report and it worked just fine for them. I'm not really sure why they can't pull my credit report, and it's making me think that they also won't be able to pull it if I apply for the card.
Hello! I am curious about the Amazon prime visa card and the approval odds.
My credit scores...
717 Experian 721 transunion 688 Equifax
I have a secured discover it card I've had for 4 months. I have a personal line of credit through my bank that reports to all 3 bureau's that's 2 year 1 month old. I have no debt or derogatory marks. I tried the pre approval for another credit card and they said they're wasn't any recent activity. I didn't realize I had to let the bill cycle then pay it off. I paid it off every month early and before it cycled.
I did the pre-qualify through Amazon for the card and they said I qualified. I don't want to risk a hard pull if I'm going to be denied.
What do you all think?
