You can listen one Audible title each month per this new benefit, but you don’t get a library with unfettered access to titles you pseudo-own the way you do on the credit system. So depends on how you use Audible but could be enough for many.

I think this is not so much something for current Audible subscribers but more aimed at people who currently use Spotify and are dissatisfied with their audiobook offering. Spotify currently only offers 15 hours of audiobook listening time per month for premium subscribers. This offers Amazon a chance to one up them for users who regularly listen to audiobooks that are over that allotted time.

Between this and no true exclusive mode, you have priced AM out of the market. Spotify and Tidal will be my go to. My AM trial ends in March and I was enjoying it, but it was up against Tidal and a few other services. Prices are CDN
I should add AM - unlimited without Audiobooks is $177 CDN. A much better proposition for me.

They just added audiobooks for “free”, then announced a price increase. Just go to your account and “downgrade“ to standard, and there is no price increase. Sleazy? Yes. Deal-breaker? Nah. Par for the course with big tech.

I have Amazon music unlimited family plan. I shared it with my wife mainly so she could get audiobooks from the included audible benefits. Audible and audiobooks don’t show up for her when she’s in the Amazon music app. Anyone have insights?

It's probably like Spotify - only the main account holder gets access to the audiobooks.
