That is odd since their system is set up to charge a yearly fee, not a monthly fee. Sounds like a glitch. At least they refunded it without much trouble.

as long as you cancel prior to the expiration date, you should not be charged. You could cancel today and still keep prime until the trial expires. Just verify it a few times on amazons website prior to the expiration date to make sure everything went through. More on reddit.com
