I initially got it for the gold status in Bonvoy but I recently managed to acquire Accor Plus, available only in Asia (of which I have a presence) which gives Accor Gold membership, and honestly around the UK Accor properties have been much more worth it for the money. The other reason I got the Bonvoy card was for the conversion between Marriott points to Star Alliance points but so far I've not used it at all.
Which makes me think, is it really worth it continuing my Bonvoy card? Should I upgrade to Gold/Platinum? I usually spend about £2-3k a month on it but I do like a nice hotel stay. However I also already have Priority Pass from one of my Asian cards, I don't book through Amex Travel because I find the prices are always higher than booking direct, and the FX charges make Amex not very good to use abroad.

My wife kept hers only because she gets the 15 elite nights which counts towards getting Platinum status and also it usually comes with the offer af some point in the year of £75 off a £200 stay at Marriott and can double up on this if you take out a supplementary card. In this way it almost pays for itself.

Only you can really answer this. It sounds to me like you don’t have the best use-case.

The hotel I want to stay at costs £429 for two nights, or 44,500 Marriott Points (around 30k Amex points). Reading a lot of people saying this is bad value but is it? New to reward travel and only ever wasted my points in the past - thank you

Most people have the rule of trying to get 1p per point, so 30K points should be worth 300 pounds. If you’re getting 429 pounds worth of rooms for 30K then that’s 1.4p per point. Not a bad deal. It’s up to you to decide what you want per point
