Use a trusted device to update the trusted number, if available. On iPhone/iPad/iPod Touch: Settings > name at top > Password & Security > Edit beside Trusted Phone Numbers No trusted device? You’ll need to initiate Account Recovery: https://iforgot.apple.com Enter the Apple ID and trusted number (part of the verification, if you don’t know it you cannot continue) It will ask for the code sent to that number, select “Didn’t get code” > “Use a different number” (the exact wording may vary) https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT204921 Heads up: There’s an initial 24hr review process, there will be additional waiting time. Once your entire waiting period has ended, go to https://iforgot.apple.com to see the instructions to update your trusted number. Do not rely solely on the text/call ETA: The window of opportunity is severely limited. Word is you have anywhere from 3-5hrs to follow the instructions to update your trusted number once the entire waiting period has ended. If you miss that window, you’ll have to start over. Support cannot bypass the process or shorten the waiting period. Answer from SaltAnswer8 on reddit.com

I created my apple account using one of those apps that lets you receive sms messages to a burner number, then I deleted the app without realizing that I would have to use it to login to my apple account, now I can't even change the number on my account, what do I do?
