Before I tried to redeem, I signed up regularly with all my normal details per my iCloud and Apple ID details.
Now I'm trying to redeem the 3-month offer, and I've tried to do so via the app on TV, via my phone, and via my MacBook, but the UI is so obscure that I can't find anywhere to redeem it.
When I try to contact Apple Support, I have to enter the serial no. of the product I purchased (an iPhone) that offers the trial, but all I'm able to get then is a number for support regarding the phone, which doesn't help much.
Any thoughts and suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

As far as I could remember, you don’t need to redeem it. It happens automatically. The Apple ID you use when you first activated your phone gets the offer. They activate it right away. You will receive an email from Apple with the details. I had such an offer last year so I had to check if I received an email from Apple and yup they did send an email about the free trial. Last year it was for 1 year.
