Push and Pop in Arrays?
I was wondering if arrays have the functionality of push and pop, or if there is another container which does. If the latter is true, could someone please direct me to a library with that functionality(I need push and pop)? More on forum.arduino.cc

How expensive are push() and pop() array methods? Do they create a whole new array?
They don't create a new array. They mutate the original array in constant time. const nums = [1,2,3] nums.push(4). //nums now has [1,2,3,4] nums.pop() //nums now has [1,2,3] You can prevent mutation by using spread operator to create a new array out of original array in linear time. const newnums = [...nums,4] //newnums has [1,2,3,4] console.log(nums) //nums is still [1,2,3] Conclusion: imo both methods are fine, however you should use the immutable way if the array size is usually small and use the push pop way if the array size is too big. Remove Duplicates from Sorted Array II - Why not use pop()?
If the implementation of the array data type in the language you use is a contiguous array of Bytes in memory, then popping in the middle would require to shift half the elements. That's pretty bad in terms of running time. If your compiler isn't smart enough to change the base address of the array when you pop the first elements (that would require to allocate new Bytes at the end, that may not be free). Then popping the first elements require to shift the whole array. If all are duplicates, you end up with a complexity of O(sum(1..n-1)), usually simplified to n**2 More on reddit.com
