My bridesmaids ordered through Azazie, including try-at-home and custom sizing. I also looked at Azazie for a backup dress, before we postponed the first time. I think it's good quality for the price, similar to David's Bridal, but with better customer service. A sample dress is the one that they ship out to people to try on. If you purchase a dress from them (even without custom sizing) it will be brand new. If you order the sample dress, it will be much cheaper since it may have some wear and tear from people trying it on. Answer from alizadk on reddit.com

I keep hearing this website mentioned for budget dresses and was curious about people's experiences. Was it worth it? Did you end up getting any of their dresses? Are the dresses still generally good quality for the price? What's the difference between a "dress sample" and a dress?

We're hoping to stay under $1k combined for both brides' dresses, so this would be a lifesaver if it works out.

It seems like a lot of people in here are talking from a bridesmaid perspective so I’ll chime in with my at home try on experience for sample dresses. I ordered two to try, it was $15/piece and I didn’t love the experience. The dresses were itchy, the skirts had a LOT of material which felt bulky and awkward, they were too big so they didn’t look flattering and there wasn’t anyone there to help clip me or anything so I could get a better picture of what it’d look like better fitted, and the dress filled the space I was trying it on in so it felt overwhelming. I actually really preferred my experience trying on in boutiques because there’s more space, a professional to help you with the dresses and clip you in, BIG BIG mirrors, a pedestal to stand on so the dresses don’t feel super long and awkward, and the other designers I tried on felt better quality and more comfortable (with the exception of Galia Lahav which was actually super itchy and stabbing me in one spot). If you’re looking for a more affordable dress I would recommend trying on in person there or at David’s Bridal and not at home because there’s a huge difference in experience and (in my opinion) not in a good way.

r/weddingplanning on Reddit: Azazie Home Try-On never in stock? Buy & return instead?
February 22, 2023 -

UPDATE (03/04/24) a tutorial on Azazie bridesmaid dresses ordering - Man what a ride. So, I came back to update because I got MOST of the dresses I was wanting into two separate orders, which is 6 dresses total. I dont think what I did could be considered "secrets" to getting what you are needing, but I think the stuff I did or the experience I had will be helpful so here I go.

  • Measuring is first -
Your first step should be to figure out what your measurements are according to the short simple video that they have on the Azazie website. The reason for this is bec you will want to know what your measurements are according to how they make the dresses. For example, Azazie says to measure the height from the collar bone down to the floor with NO shoes, while other sites like KennedyBlue say to measure using the shoes you intend to wear with the dress. Azazie also says to measure using the bra you will be wearing. Then take those measurements to their standard dress sizes graph (thats the one that has A1, A2, A3, etc.). Align your largest measurement to the closest standard size (per their recommendation). They also say if it doesn't match exactly to size up rather than down (because you can always pull a dress in to see how it looks if its big, but not if its too small). The standard size is particularly important for getting the Home Try-On dresses that are available. And my suggestion is to have a package of multipurpose metal coated clips to use to cinch the dress (when its loose) in place bec it helps a lot with seeing how it will look.

  • Finding the style- Much of my time I spent going thru EVERY SINGLE bridesmaids dress that Azazie owns. I mean every single one, from beginning to end. I even went thru the Mother of the Bride section (there's more ling sleeved ones there). In case anyone is confused, Azazie has two different stocks, they have a stock where you can order dresses (and these will always show every size & color as available). And the other stock is the Home Try-On stock which is always being checked-out/returned so the availability is fluctuating fast. So I decided to start in the order stock, (not the Home Try on) and filter by color because there is one frabric that doesn't come in my color (the Luxe Knit fabric doesn't come in Dusty Sage) so that I could see what dresses they offer as a whole, and not just for trying on. From going thru their stock, I want to point out a very helpful point- many of the styles repeat somewhat! I mean in some cases there is some minor detail differences, but in a couple of cases I almost couldn't tell them apart! This is helpful for Home Try On shopping, since many dresses are out-of-stock, if you are loving a specific style, then keep an eye out for other dresses of that same or similar style. For example, I loved the dress Maren, which is very similar to Ashia. I wanted to try on the Hillian dress, but the Kaleigh dress is also very similar. The Bonnie dress, and Cherish dress are also not identical but have similar styling too. Some of the simple styles have LOTS of dress options, just depends on what you are looking for. Pay attention to the corner banner on some of the photos, it tells you if its Satin, Luxe Knit, or Stretchy. So have a list of your favorite dresses to least favorite that you like, put them in some kind of order by preference. Having the dresses all listed out means you aren't trying to SHOP forva dress the same time you are trying to get it available in Home Try on. It helped me a LOT to go online, see what was available or not, and move on to the next option on my list without even needing to hesitate. I was able to act / adapt quickly.

  • Home Try-On- This was wild. Availability of specific dresses just seemed near impossible ( Im looking at you Norah dress!) and with the Home Try-On, its different than the order section, because the Azazie company says that ordering a dress in a specific color/size is easy to be made. But choosing from their try ons means you are choosing from a stock. So they (and I ) recommend that you focus most on finding dresses available to check-out in your closest standard size, and completely ignore the color. That is, just be willing to try the style in any color that is available in your size, so that you can get that thing on your body to see how it feels and looks based on its fit rather than the color. Now this obviously won't work for everyone, this is gonna be mostly for people who have already been told what the color is, and not trying to decide the color. Keep in mind, even if a dress is out, it EVENTUALLY has to make its way back to be returned (unless everyone is purchasing the try-on dresses which is possible, but many wont be). So with ignoring the color, this means you will do the opposite of what you did for order stock (which was filter by color) and instead filter the Home Try-On section as filter by size. The most frustrating part is if you are NOT in the section for Home Try On dresses, you will think you are looking at the dress being In Stock when thats the order section. Ways to know you are in the right place is if it says the dress is $10, then you know you are in the Home Try On. If the price is more than that, then you are not. You can quickly shift over to the Home Try On section by scrolling down on a dress listing and click on the link that says Try this Dress Before You Buy. When it came down to me being determined to get the dresses sent to me, I basically spent time checking the website often by refreshing the tabs until something was made available. I kept checking ALL the dresses on my list to see if the ones I liked less were more easily in stock (they were). So if I got 2 desirable dresses, I then plugged in a more available dress, and got a total of 3 dresses to try on. The second order I did the same way.

  • Website vs App - The computer, versus the phone browser, versus the app. Anything on the phone for ME took a lot of time. Having the Azazie website open on my computer seemed to load faster, and therefore was a lot less frustrating for when I was ready to pounce on the Home-Try On dresses. I also registered a separate email address to use on the Azazie website/app because I was thinking that the notifications of when a dress comes back in stock would be helpful. They were not. The notifications were always delayed (So I would go on and see a dress available and it was not notifying me immediately). Another issue I encountered with the notify me when its back in stock feature, is that it wants you to add a notification for a specific color. And thats fine, but if you are employing the approach I mentioned of trying on any color, then this is tedious to go thru and add a notification for every single 30+ colors that they have. Its also a little bit maddening bec when you open the notification window, it tells you the last time the dress was leant out, and it can be frustrating to see that it was available that day or yesterday or whatever. But also, that's how I knew that the stock was fluctuating faster than anyone was really realizing, bec of that list. So anyway I made a typed-up list so I could add or move dresses on that list with ease of editing. I had dresses sorted in first place (I LOVE these dresses), second place (I like these dresses), and third place (Maybe/Not sure). And then I arranged all dresses from most desired to least.

  • BACK UP PLAN (that I didn't use) - Each dress individually says $10. This means that you could actually just get one dress to try on for $10. So if a highly sought after dress becomes available, I would suggest putting a Try-On order thru for the 1 dress, instead of trying to wait to have three available all at once for the $20. That was my backup plan because I really just wanted to try the dresses I loved the most. But hey, for ten dollars more, I could stick 2 lesser desired dresses in to the order based on my list. So that's what I did. But I figured even if I had to pay $10 each for a dress to try, that came at different times, then it would end up around $30 for three dresses. It wasnt that bad.

  • Suggestion - Get three full bridal swatches mailed to you for free. Full bridal swatch has a piece of all their fabrics in the right color (again, Im coming from being told what the color is, and not trying to choose it). And by having a few swatches you ensure you have some sample pieces just in case there was some kind of an emergency. No one ever really wants to think about if something happens to a dress or supply chain or whatever, but I think having a swatch means you are empowered to replace the dress & still match if something happened where it needed to be replaced. On Azazie its currently free to get, w/ free shipping, and swatches can take a couple weeks, so why not?

Original Post (02/23/2024) - I've never ordered a bridesmaid dress before! The bride told us to order thru Azazie or KennedyBlue (Dusty Sage from Azazie, or Sage from KennedyBlue, apparently those match). I am having extremely tough time getting access to the Home Try-on dresses in my size (Im looking at trying ANY color in my size). I've picked like 15+ dresses, so I don't think I'm being super picky, but they're still out. On Azazie, the current special says three dresses for $20, but how are people even getting them all available at the same time? It also seems like demand is very high right now for the all the try-on dresses. Have yall ever just ordered a standard sized dress to try on, then return? Is that allowed, or is this a huge no no? I just want to try on a few dresses before I pick. Otherwise, I'll either have to buy without trying on, or I'll have to find dresses elsewhere and risk color differences (or wait a while for color swatches to arrive from other companies?)

Edit 1: Also, is there any website/service that actively compares the swatches of every dress carrier?? Seems like this would be massively helpful!

Edit 2: Wedding is in Oct. 2024, and will be across the country from where I am. So I'm not even in the same state as the bride.

I’m in an August 2024 wedding and we’ve been tasked with picking out dresses from Azazie. I’m paranoid about try before you buy! I placed a try before you buy order for three test dresses (only one in the correct color, so I’ll have to return at least 2 no matter what I decide) and am worried about messing up the return and getting charged like $300. Please let me know of your experience!

Also, their sizing seems SUPER weird.. I measured myself and my normal size is way off what my measurements were. So my try better you buy dresses range in sizes as well.

r/weddingplanning on Reddit: Honest Review of Azazie - Return Process Was a Major Headache
July 11, 2024 -

I wanted to share this just to give warning to those considering going through Azazie for dresses. I’m a bridesmaid in an upcoming fall wedding.

Let’s talk about the positives first: a lot of gorgeous dresses, with plus sizes and so many colors, and - in theory at least - the home try on program seemed great. And I’m sure that program worked well for some!

The first headache was that a lot of the sizes for the try on dresses were sold out. It kind of send me into panic mode, so I found some styles that I liked and, since I wasn’t 100% sure of my size, I ordered three dresses in three different sizes.

The order came quickly and one dress ended up fitting nicely and was the color that I needed, so I opted to purchase it.

About day 5 of my 7 day try on period, I returned the two other dresses to my local Staples, which was a member of the Happy Returns. Got my receipt for return and went about my way.

Exactly a week later, I’m on vacation, and I get an URGENT email that my dresses have not yet been returned. It said to either return them ASAP, or if I did return them to let them know the date, location, and the receipt if I had it. This email was frustrating as it threatened to send me to collections if my card wouldn’t go through again.

I emailed back and told them the date I returned the dresses and the location. I said I had the receipt and will send it to them when k return home. They emailed me back and said they will put a 7 day hold on charging my card until I can get the receipt to them.

I returned home a couple of days later and sent them the receipt, thinking it would be the end of it. They emailed me back and said that I need to wait until the dresses are returned. I called them and said that I shouldn’t be charged when I have proof of receipt. The employee said it’s protocol to wait “several weeks” to see if the dresses are returned, but not to worry.

A week after this phone call, my card gets charged nearly $200 because my dresses are not yet returned. I get another frustrating email from the company saying that I can keep the dresses now and this charge cannot be refunded.

I sent them another email saying that I returned them with the receipt, and it took a bit of back and forth until I was finally refunded. They kept insisting on waiting until they got the dresses back.

Now, nearly a month after I returned the dresses, I got an email saying that my dresses were received by the warehouse. 3 weeks worth of headaches and phone calls and e-mails because of their slow delivery. I would not be buying again due to this.

Hi all,

First of all I am super excited about Azazie so far and would love to go with sky blue for my bridal party. I have a few days left to return 3 Azazie home try on dresses, but they didn’t send me a return label.

I really want to have my girls order their bridesmaid dresses from Azazie, but I am a little worried and shook that I didn’t receive the return label, plus I have seen a few less than stellar reviews for the returns process with the company. Has anyone in this subreddit gone through the return process with Azazie or know if the return label was supposed to be in the box/maybe in an email instead? I’m totally confused and kind of worried that maybe they won’t get back to me with a label come time; I am not thrilled about $300 especially since the dresses are not all even in the correct color, just styles!!

Thank you

Hi all- I like several of the Azazie wedding dresses, but the try before you buy has been consistently sold out for most of the ones I like for over 2 weeks now. I'm refreshing every day and signed up to be notified when those styles are available to try again, but have had zero luck. I definitely want to try a dress on before I buy it, even if it's considerably less than a dress I could purchase at a bridal shop.

Has anyone else had luck with the try before you buy feature? Or did you give up bc the same thing happened to you? Also- Any other online companies with a similar service that you would recommend?

Thank you in advance!

I’ve had luck!!!!!! Figured out that’s it’s not much more $$$ to order try on dresses than swatches. So nice to see the full dresses in person!!! Me and my fiancé and my friend all made a 3 for $20 order so we had 9 dresses for the squad to see and feel and try on. Helped me a LOT for making my final decision. And it came fast too. Also wanted to make sure the dresses are high quality enough, and they are perfectly fine. Some look more luxe than others, and some looked cheap, so yeah, do the try ons. We weren’t able to get the correct size/style/color combos, but overall got enough to know how the sizing works and what the colors look like in a full dress. Also, some of the dresses have a lining layer and some don’t!!!

I'm knee deep in Azazie right now. I ordered all of the swatches in neutrals that I was interested in (diamond white and ivory for bridal, white, and a few others under the bridesmaid options) so I could compare all of the colors. I have seen a lot of people say they have went with bridesmaid Azazie dresses for their wedding dress, so I wanted to see all of the colors in person to compare. The dress I was most interested in has been OOS as well as several others I wanted to try so I signed up for notifications...I noticed that I seem to get random notifications and not all of them. As in, I was able to snag the dress I really wanted just by stalking the app (recommend the app) and some dresses I asked for a notification for I never got at all. I just tried 3, and shipped them back. I would say it was a good experience and I recommend trying to watch the app ( I would just check a few times a day, easy as checking emails or socials) and look for several sizes above what you think your real size is, you can always clip a larger dress. Seeing them in person was very helpful to feel the material, see how they were made, etc. overall, I was pretty impressed with the quality of the dresses I had. I hear they can be hit or miss. All 3 I tried felt high quality for the cost and well made. Sorry to type a book out - but I've had very little luck finding much info from anyone who has tried their dresses for bridal prior to my experience.

March 25, 2024 - I used it.. found my perfect dress but the bust was two inches too small, so I ended up custom ordering one of the home try on dresses. It’s perfect!! I was really impressed with the quality of the dresses. I thought they would be like paper thin. I ended up ordering two junior bridesmaids and a bridesmaid dress from them.

Azazie Saskia Try On

This week I received my order for my Azazie try on dress and I thought I would give a little honest review since I see lots about Azazie BM dresses but not much about their wedding line!

I paid 15 dollars to try on the Azazie Saskia BG Dress in Diamond White in a size 2. Some measurements: bust is 33in, waist is 26.5in, hips are 36.5in, and hollow to hem was 61in. For reference I am about 5’3” (5’4” on a good day) and wore 3in heels and still had several extra inches of length. This is where I am excited about their FREE custom fitting!!

Overall, I absolutely loved how simple the process is and I loved the way the dress looked on me. I was able to take it and try it on with my mother there and even she said she was surprised at the quality and how good it looked on me, and I really wouldn’t be surprised if this is the dress I wear for my wedding.

However, there were some minor design flaws with the dress that I hope won’t be there if I actually order it. My mother used to be a seamstress, and hypothesized that Azazie’s try on program consists of dresses with minor flaws that they can’t sell, but are suitable for trying on. I hope she is correct!

The flaws we noticed were as follows:

The biggest issue for me that could not easily be fixed is the lace on my right boob was off centered and stuck out over the edge of the dress (noticeable in the v neck part) and was not symmetrical on the sides or front with the left side. While the symmetry part didn’t bother me much, I don’t see how it would have been possible to fix the lace sticking out without just cutting it off :(

Also the dress did not zip up the last inch or so, which was not because it was too tight or anything. The tulle was not cut to fit the scalloping at the bottom of the dress, so there were random little pieces of tulle sticking out between the scallops. This however would have been easy to fix and didn’t worry me as much. Also, the beads on my arms on the right side were not spaced out far enough and got tangled together, but again this should be an easy fix.

The last issue I noticed is the slit up the side of the leg is so high up that it effects the weight distribution of the dress, and the fabric underneath the train kept getting off centered because of it. Again, this could be easily fixed with just shortening the slit and also might be fixed just from it being custom fit to my height.

I have heard Azazie has amazing customer service so I am not worried about ordering from here, and overall the process was a complete breeze and I loved the low pressure of trying on this dress at home with my friends and family. It is a beautiful dress, and although it might not be made as perfectly as a $2000 dress you really can’t beat the price point and it is surprisingly beautiful and high quality for $399. Considering I am paying for my dress myself and am only going to wear it once, I really don’t think I will be able to find another dress as beautiful and budget friendly as this one!

9.95/10 would recommend!

I'm an indecisive person and generally try on lots of styles before I pick something. I have a specific color and fabric decided by the bride, but still have to choose my own style. I can't justify paying $10 PER STYLE to try on and return - Is there any way around this or a way to get a bulk deal? I definitely will purchase my dress from them as all the wedding party is, but I don't want to spend $100 just to try something on on top of buying a dress.

r/weddingplanning on Reddit: Anyone have experience with Azazie for Try On versus Final Sale?
October 14, 2025 -

I tried on a few Azazie dresses and found "the one", it is perfect, simple and flattering- exactly my taste. The try-on dress arrived in a beautiful garment bag, well-packaged and not wrinkled/a mess like some online orders I've experienced. My one stipulation was the try on dress is "cream" where I would have preferred white, but that's a small thing and otherwise its absolutely perfect.

My question, for anyone who has experienced Azazie for Try-On versus Final Order: do the final order dresses come in the same careful packaging in same great condition? I want to return the Try-On version and order in my preferred color (white), but if the Final Order version is going to come and the dress will be a wrinkled mess stuffed into a tiny envelope without the careful packaging and garment bag, I will just keep the Try-On dress in my slightly less preferred color. I am trying to stay as stress free as possible and dont want to deal with taking it to a seamstress or steaming it myself and possibly ruining it. I am not great with ironing or steaming clothes so I am a little stressed by all this.

Any advice is welcome!

r/weddingplanning on Reddit: Azazie Bridesmaid At Home Try On question
November 1, 2021 -

Hello lovely people!!

I’m wanting to combine the ease of Azazie online purchasing/prices with the experience of going dress shopping with all my bridesmaids. So I’m going to have everyone try on their dresses on the same day at my home instead, and make a little afternoon of it. Otherwise we’d all have to drive over an hour to get to any store. To make it simple, I’d like to try and get them all shipped to my home and I’ll send them off as well. Anyone have experience with this, and how to do it?

Each bridesmaid order it the same day and put my address? Or do I get their options and size, and put separate orders in under their name with my address? I’m afraid of all the dresses arriving at different time to the various locations, and people not being able to try them on the appointed day due to the return window.

Thanks!

r/weddingplanning on Reddit: Azazie Try-On Program - Bridal
May 13, 2022 -

Hey - anybody have some experience with the Azazie try-on program for bridal dresses, specifically when the dress they want to try on is currently lent out? My two top choices are currently unavailable, so I tried 3 others. I wasn’t a fan of those and am really counting on those too 2. I signed up for notifications of my top 2, but there’s really limited information about when it might become available again. The customer service told me if someone picked it for try-on, the whole process could take up to 6 weeks before it’s available for the next person. She couldn’t provide me specific info on the styles I was interested (how many are lent out, how many people signed up for notifications, etc.). I’m wondering if anyone’s signed up for notifications, and how long it took before they got one.
