The standard width of twin mattress is 38". I have the Hemnes daybed and 2 twin mattresses from Costco can fit for no issue. Are you sure the bed frame is fully pulled out? More on reddit.com

IIRC Ikea used to only make European bed sizes but then to get more customers, they also started making U.K. sizes too. The European size is listed as being 140cm wide and the UK size is just listed as "Standard Double". More on reddit.com

I bought the queen size version and it works just fine with a mattress I got from a third party ... The bed holds up just fine with the mattress and two people on it.
Slightly related, I absolutely love the MALM pull up storage bed and would strongly recommend it to anyone.

My new mattress on it's way is 75 x 54 x 10 . Ikea full size bed dimensions say the bed is 76 3/4 x 55 1/2 and customer service is warning only mattress of 74 3/8" x 53 1/8" is correct for the bed. But the problem is EVERY full size mattress on the market seems to be about 54"w or 75" L....does Ikea have different mattress sizing????? Is the 75 x 54 off by too much for a full size ikea frame?

I've heard that the IKEA beds are a different size than standard UK sizes. Can anyone confirm this? is it because they are a european company? I'm specifically asking about about double beds from Ikea.

I have a ikea mattress was bought in Euro size as was the bed I got from them. This was 5 years ago. Now we want to replace the bed we can't as there are only 5 different ones that would fit our mattress as they've cottoned on that in the uk we like uk sizes. If you go into the store you'll only get uk sizes the euro ones have to be ordered
