All of which can reasonably be handled by one or two people in a 5 foot wide bathroom, and the installation completed by us in a week or two once the weather warms up enough for outdoor or garage showers. I could easily install one of the molded wall kits, but we don’t want either the extra seams or the built in shelves.

We are updating a walk in shower and want to put in a surround that is not cheap-looking or flimsy. Our dimensions are a little weird and I am having problems finding a good one to fit in our 48" W X 34" Deep shower space - none of the Flex Stone or Trans Solid surrounds are the right depth.

And am wondering if anyone has experience with this brand or has other recommendations.

I'd recommend Swanstone. I have had all three brands installed in the past 18 months. Transolid for a guest bath where we went from tub to walk in shower, Flexstone for kids bath, and Swanstone for Masterbath walk in shower (72x42). Swanstone is substantially more expensive than the others but worth it. You're basically going to have to do what we did, buy oversized or multiples and then cut to size. Where we had to "meld" two pieces together to get the extra width, we covered the seam with a PVC strip almost like having a batten then silicon caulked as needed. Note that Transolid and Swanstone are solid surface while Flexstone is not hence the price difference. Getting rid of tile surrounds and grout lines was a decision we do not regret at all.

I have never had good luck with a surround and would do tile instead.
