Hey y’all 👋
AI image generators have lowkey only been good enough to make ads/product shots in the last 3 months, so I've been trying them all to see which actually make usable stuff vs. ai slop :)
🥇 1. Mintly
Basically lets you skip photoshoots
You upload a plain product pic and it makes polished lifestyle ads (like a model holding your product, flat lays, etc.)
What’s cool: it keeps your logos/text sharp so it doesn’t smudge your products text/logo + meta ad library cloning and quick templates have been quite helpful
Best if you want ads fast/work with physical products
🥈 2. AdCreative.ai
Super good if you need a ton of variations
What’s cool: It scores the ads so you can pick the ones most likely to perform
Downside: some look generic, like PowerPoint slides with stock photos
🥉 3. Canva
Everyone knows Canva. It’s great for editing, resizing, and quick graphics
Huge template library and drag-and-drop ease
But: it’s not really an “AI ad generator.” It won’t magically make lifestyle product ads
I mainly use Canva to edit the product images I generated in other platforms (add cta, heading, etc)
4. QuickAds.ai
Focuses more on copy than visuals
Handy if you struggle with writing captions or ad headlines
Visuals are fine, but not groundbreaking
5. Photoroom
A mobile app that’s great for quick product cleanups
Great at background removal and making your photos look neater
Weak at generating full lifestyle ads — feels more like “cut and paste.”
Biggest plus is that its a mobile app and I prefer editing images on my phone than web
TLDR
Mintly is best if you actually want to replace photoshoots
AdCreative.ai is best for agencies cranking out tons of versions
Canva is the best editor, but not a generator
QuickAds.ai is your ad copy buddy
Photoroom is nice if you’re just fixing pics on your phone
Curious if anybody here is using any of these tools or running AI ads in meta rn

Is the AI ad generator free?
While all users can browse the Inspire ad library for free, access to the AI ad generator is limited for free accounts. If you want to access most of Canva Grow’s AI ad generation features, you’ll need to upgrade to a Pro, Business, or Enterprise Account. Only Business and Enterprise users can access ad insights, with limits on the number of creatives that can be analyzed.
What is the best AI ad generator for FB ads?
The best AI Facebook ad generator helps you brainstorm new ideas for content, brings those ideas to life for you, makes it easy to publish to Meta platforms, and provides data-driven insight that eliminates guesswork. With Canva Grow, you can post your ads directly to Facebook and Instagram the moment your creatives are ready—and you don’t even have to leave the platform to do it. Just connect your ad account, and seamless publishing will be one click away.
Can I use the AI Ad generator for free?
I have been testing some of the popular tools for creating Instagram ads using AI with their free plan. Here are my brief observations:
Predis.ai: Best Instagram ad generator with templates for UGC, carousel, video, and single image ads. App integration is good, a complete social media tool. Has a forever-free plan.
Tagshop AI: Focused on UGC videos. Very limited free plan with decent generations
Simplified: Focusing on too many things, the generated ads do not look good. Has a very limited free trial.
ChatGPT 5.0: Easy to create generations with text prompts but no editing options at all.
AdCreative.ai: Big name but very basic product ad generation. Be careful with their free trial; they charge you without any heads up or your confirmation.
Let me know your thoughts and if I missed any good tools available in the market.
