Are these reliable to buy from? Obviously I would buy from Canon on Amazon, not those crappy kits. And how's the protection plan from those? I can get gift cards from my work to these two which is why i may do it to drop the price. Im looking at the R10. I originally was gonna do refurb from Canon but I can't get Canon gift cards and the price isn't budging for that. I could get a brand new camera for the same price or cheaper from work points.

I bought my Canon 90D on Best Buy, checked everything out and it was fine. I believe you have the option to get warranty during the checkout process. It’s been awhile since I got it, but maybe follow through some of the buying process and see if they offer it.

I always recommend MPB. It’s used gear but a lot of the products are barely used and come in the original packaging. You’ll find better prices there than Amazon, and you can trust that each item has been tested and inspected (and you aren’t supporting Amazon which is always a plus!) Plus, and this is my favorite thing about MPB, when you click on a product and select the one you want, the pictures you are seeing are taken by their team of the actual individual product you are buying. So any scratches, dents, or whatever will be visible. They will also note any issues in the notes when you are looking at a product. They’ve got a bunch of R7s right now that are basically new with the original packaging and no cosmetic or mechanical issues. That’s where I’ll Be getting my stuff from now on, highly recommend!

If they are advertising less than the price everyone else is offering there are one of three options: They are not an authorized Canon distributor and you're may be getting a gray market camera. They're a scam and you're not going to get the camera at all. You're actually looking at a refurb or otherwise used unit.

With luck you might be able to find an elderly enthusiast DSLR, with kitzoom. Samsung? Pentax K10D? Nikon D90?? I'd look for something above 6MP and with stabilization either in lens or body. You can get into the hobby with such but yes, they are limited compared to modern stuff.
