So here on godaddy's site it says you can make a free website and keep it forever

But twice now I've had to rebuild my website because it started charging me for things and the only way they could refund it was to cancel my whole site. When ask the reps they just tell me I have to purchase a plan to keep my site up. It's like they have all been trained to hard sell but have no idea about the claims their own website makes.

So is it actually possible to have a free website forever or is that just something they are lying about?

OP did you ever figure this out? I’m actually in the middle of this mess! I created and paid for a Domain. Then I found out after that I need to pay for a premium if I want to use my domain for the free website- builder. I was talking to a rep and he kept telling me that even if I don’t link the domain, my free website will be removed after the free trial is over. I sent him exactly the link and screenshot of what you have posted. He kept saying he does not see that and there is no free option forever. This is so frustrating!

Just spend last 2 hours trying to get money back from GODADDY. It said my plan was $10.99 then charged an additional $11.99 a MONTH for a new domain name. How do they get away with that?? And the customer service is a complete waste because you cannot understand them at all. My question is how are they allowed to totally lie about pricing and get away with it. They state onEVERY AD that a domain name is INCLUDED in price. NO- that’s a lie.

You definitely are not looking at the the domain. The domain are sold per year. You probably bought month to month hosting or something which does not include anything

I work at GoDaddy and it is literally not possible to bill monthly for a domain. It isn’t even godaddy rule, ICANN doesn’t allow it. Domains are minimum 1 yr and maximum 10 years in yearly increments
