When I worked for a home cleaning company, we were taking the beater bar out and cutting hair off of it every day. To my knowledge, cutting the hair out/making sure the beater bar is clean is part of the maintenance of any vacuum. If you have Instagram I would also look up @gocleanco. I have a bathtub in my washroom and my hair keeps getting stuck all around the tub after I bathe. I don’t have long hair but cleaning it daily after I bathe is a hassle (especially because I have roommates). Budget is under 50 usd. I was looking at the Black + Decker DustBuster handheld vacuums but I’m not sure if that’s a good choice.

Hi there!
So... My husband and I are currently searching for a new vacuum that might be able to deal with my long hair that sheds like crazy. Our current stick vacuum gets hair wrapped around the roll, and it's super annoying (and kind of gross..) cutting it off. Are there any vacuums out there that are made for this kind of thing? We were looking at pet vacuums initially, but honestly don't know what to look for. If at all possible, a smaller/lighter-weight vacuum would be ideal since we live in a very small apartment, and mostly just use it on our area rug in the living room.

Shark vacuum cleaners As a person who professionally cleans, these are the absolute best vacuum cleaners for long hair and pets! I use one in my home also, I have long hair, 2 long haired chihuahuas and now a cat 🐈⬛ Very easy to take out the beater bar if needed, suction on these are superior to Dyson, and light enough that every day use isn’t going to kill your shoulders or wrists. My current one I use for work gets beat up, like 2-3 homes a day all have pet hair and it still works great after 2 1/2 years. Hope this helps even with the $$ but you can get good deals on Amazon.

I hate having to cut the hair off the roll and i feel like i can never fully remove all the hair anyways. Posts on this sub have recommended the Shark® POWERDETECT™ Ultra-Light Corded Stick Vacuum, but I would prefer a cordless option if possible.
anyone out there w a vacuum that works for this?

What posts have you been looking at? I think this sub would sooner shut than recommend a Shark product. Furthermore, if this is your only cleaner, steer clear of cordless all together.
