Ryzen tends to be better with battery life, performance on battery and iGPU performance. Performance when plugged in tends to be similar between the two brands unless TDP is low, in which case the Ryzen would normally be better. Gaming tends to need a dGPU, but if you're getting something without a GPU then Ryzen would be preferable for the better iGPU. However this is a more general description. I was looking for an i7 laptop with decent specs to do heavy spreadsheets and general SEO work on. I also like to dabble in games, whilst I say games, I mean exclusively Planet Zoo (I know, stand back, I am very cool).
I also like a premium feel. My partner has a HP Spectre 360 and for work I have a Dell XPS 16 inch with top specs (Due to work bloatwear I just dont want to use it at home anymore, especially for side hustle). They are both so nice but SO pricey.
