March 24, 2023In most theaters, the front row is way too close to the screen. How does this place compare?
These "premium seats" are just average, super close and come with no services. I rarely see anyone sit in them (maybe one or two people when iPic was still very new to Houston). The "premium plus" seats, aka the pods that iPic is known for, is the only way to go. More on yelp.com

June 27, 2024What movie theaters in Houston have the best visual experience? I’m more interested in the quality of the screen etc vs other amenities such as food, etc.
We've recently been making the drive out to Star Cinema Grill in Richmond/Katy. (Westpark and 99, whatever you want to call that area.) It's got the only Samsung Onyx screen in the US and while we are not 'cinephiles' we think it's a great way to experience movies at the theater. Sound is good too. We do pay a little premium for the private 'pods' but they have other seats that are probably fine too. More on reddit.com

not counting places like the mfah or soon-to-repoen river oaks theater, what is the best theater to see a new, wide-release film?
i used to have an amc membership and loved going to the amc 30 on dunvale but it closed during the pandemic. the former angelika downtown is FINE but i prefer some place nicer. only other amcs are out in the burs, though i MIGHT drive to alamo for a special movie

The first two rows in any of the iPic theaters is called "Premium" and are quite close to the screen. They don't recline and don't have food service. The "Premium plus" seats are in pairs and are the way to go.
