I would go with the EQ card since it has no FX fee and will reimburse you the ATM fee if you withdraw from a Canadian ATM. I don’t carry around my debit card anymore because of it. More on reddit.com

I'm not sure if this gift card is geofenced but Try using Amazon.ca , to buy CAD gift cards, they have Doordash, Uber Eats and a few others denominated in CAD. Amazon recognizes foreign gift cards/credit cards automatically and will allow you to charge in USD to that card to buy things in CAD, The conversion rate that Amazon offers is also very competitive. Consider the WealthSimple Cash Prepaid Card, it's a no FX fee card that also pays 1% on all purchases. It also allows for free ATM access (though doesn't rebate fees if the ATM itself charges one). There's really only 3 good prepaid cards for travel which are: WealthSimple Cash EQ Bank Wise MultiCurrency All other prepaid cards charge the standard 2.5% FX fee. The first 2 allows for more free ATM access & you can earn rewards but the Wise MultiCurrency card lets you load multiple currencies on the cheap. More on reddit.com

I use prepaid MasterCard to pay at Costco. Usually buy them at a grocery store (500$) + 9.95$ activation fee.
I'm now seeing these new cards: Secure Spend for 7.95$ activation fee.
Anyone ever tried them? What's the catch? Do they have no-use fees? Or monthly fees? Or is it really just the 7.95$ activation?

I've used the Secure Spend bought from Circle K. They work fine, like any other gift card. The one I bought is not reloadable.
