Hello all,
I'm planning on mounting a TV beside my bed with a long-arm mount that will swing out and be maybe 4-5 feet from my face while I'm laying in bed: Kind of like the below picture but just one TV and the mount is on the wall beside the bed.
I would primarily be using this television for gaming as well as watching movies. I'm more concerned about the gaming performance compared to the movie performance. In particular I would like a TV where (in order of priority):
Burn-in is not an issue I need to worry about
I don't want it so huge that my eyes are darting around when reading subtitles on movies or playing games (but as big as possible without causing these issues). Maybe 50 or 55"? (just basing off of other TV's I've seen which "feel" like a good size anecdotally from a 4-5 foot distance) I'm not sure though and am open to suggestions on sizing.
I want an acceptable degree of input lag (under 25ms) just so it's not noticeable.
I would like ghosting/streaking to be not too noticeable when gaming at high FPS.
Thank you for the advice! Hoping to snag a good deal on Black Friday!
Here is my stupid little living room set-up
I live in a small 1 bedroom so I am trying to make the most out of my living space as I work from home. I have previously used a set-up with an entertainment center bisecting a room with my personal/work computer set-up behind the desk. Its tacky but it offers several advantages in that I can use the tv as a monitor for movies/streaming as well as giving me a divider for a pseudo office space.
In any case - I am looking to find a better tv than the 100 dollar amazon 32" TV that I am using as a placeholder. A few relevant details:
Distance from center of entertainment center and roughly my head position is 7 feet
Room is obviously bright with a window adjacent
Primary use case is basic streaming/television/movies, low impact gaming (I play Switch and may occasionally connect my computer to play some low requirements games), and sports
My budget is probably up to about 1500 but my primary concern/driver is value
From poking around a few guides and researching a little bit on my own something like a 65" Sony X93L meets a lot of the desired attributes (good in bright rooms, possibly gets in at budget if I can find a good price, etc...) but I am a bit worried about the 65" being too big (55" seems more reasonable but is not offered in that model).
Any recommendations for tvs to look out for? I have read that I should avoid OLED due to potential for direct sunlight but I am completely new at this.
Thanks!
