i'm heading out to the los angeles area next month and i wanna hit up some thrift stores when I'm there. i'll want to go to some goodwills but are there any hidden gems around? i'll be around arcadia, monrovia, burbank, glendale and pasadena areas. help a girl with a pitiful closet out!

Probably a bit too far but I'm telling you, this Goodwill is UNREAL: 817 S La Brea Ave, Los Angeles, CA 90036 I have probably visited over 1000 thrift stores in my life and this is the winner 🏆 (37f.. not sure what your style is but everyone I have ever sent here falls in love)

The goodwill on fair oaks in Pasadena has a little thrifting Bermuda triangle going with Salvation Army right across the block on Del Mar and then Salv army has a smaller separate shop behind the big one that’s a “hand picked” shop so it’s nicer items but higher price. So it’s nice to hit those 3 quickly.

They get picked over pretty thoroughly because thrifting is popular and kinda trendy. They aren't particularly expensive but there are vintage stores and resellers that can be. I don't really know that much because it's not my thing, just observation based on my fiancee and her sister thrifting. I do hear palm springs can be good for thrifting because the population is old, fashionable, and wealthy. More on reddit.com

May 12, 2021 - This specific Out of the Closet is my favorite, it’s considered their super store and it’s tucked away in an industrial area of LA. I’ve always found really unique home decor and furniture pieces there. They offer a more curated selection but everything is in great condition! I always find really cool lamps and chic home decor trinkets. I would say because it is more curated their prices are a little higher than a Goodwill. 3. Willing to drive an hour for a weekend trip.
Most of the thrift stores in LA, in my opinion, have been heavily lackluster compared to my experience thrifting in Boston. Prices are higher and quality seems less.
I’ve been to son of a vet, st. Vincent’s, bridge thrift, and a lot of the other small ones.
Are there any stores out there that still hve some decent finds?
