Hello everyone!
I have had success finding things in the past with Reddit so I am back!
I had an idea the other day - for my car I use a phone cord that plugs into the usb for in the center consol and this is how I play music. My car isn’t quite new enough to allow me to connect to Bluetooth through the car.
And I thought, they probably make a usb plug that I can connect to via Bluetooth with my phone and play music. Then BAM! Bluetooth for my music.
But I for the love of my cannot find a device that works like this despite it seeming (to me) pretty logical.
Everything I find, and what I quick ordered thinking it was just a usb, is something that is powered by the usb then plugs into the aux cord slot. It didn’t even connect to my phone right either way too.
So I am asking- is there a little Bluetooth usb that I can connect to and play my music with to my car? Only utilizing the USB port? I would expect it to look like a thumb drive or something.
Or alternatively is someone confident this doesn’t exist or just can’t?
Any input or thoughts would be helpful and appreciated, and if it’s real and hiding from me, could I get a link?
Thank you in advance!
[for reference my car is a 2011 bmw but I assume several cars if this era might be in a similar situation]

It was actually for switch but it works flawless with minimal delay
More on reddit.comI wouldn't count on it. As Nick C said, you'd need one that acts like a USB storage device, which means that you'd have to specifically buy one. Regular bluetooth adapters simply act as a bluetooth antenna, and don't have the bluetooth software stack loaded onto their internal circuits. But you do get fancier ones, which cost more. Alternatively, you could have a bluetooth system installed on the Auxiliary port of the unit, but then you might as well just go trade it for the bluetooth-enabled model. It will work out much cheaper that way.
Get one of these things and just load all your songs on there.
Otherwise, if that's not an option, get a quote for someone to install an SPDIF cable so that you can plug it straight into your phone/device.
This one works perfectly. I use this on my Ford Focus
