There are instructions in your manual for a lap belt only. You’d have to talk to a body shop who knows classic cars on whether the car is structurally sound enough to have seatbelts installed. The seatbelts need to be mounted somewhere that can take crash forces, and that car wasn’t built with that in mind. Definitely only rear face in this car with your child. They cannot use a booster in it. So they can ride in it as long as they rear face. I would feel remiss if I also didn’t point out that the car is unsafe for adults. I simply want you to have this information to use as you want to travel in it. No crumple zone. No airbags. No upper body protection with a shoulder belt. No headrests to protect the spine as it rebounds back. If the belts are nearly 70 years old I’d make sure they had no prior crashes that would stretch them and make them potentially pointless in another collision. If the belts aren’t nearly 70 years old, were they installed in a way that will actually help, or just in a way to make the car road legal (those are not the same thing). Everything I’ve ever read/known has always said 10 years and then bin it. Plastic degradation, the fabric on the belts can start to tear, other fabric gets holes and generally looks worse for wear etc. You could call the kidsafe company and ask for their advice too. 2018 & 2019 would mean 2028 & 2029. If you can’t afford new seats: I would be doing a THOROUGH check of both seats, pull all fabrics off, de-thread the belts (if it allows for it) and check every thing over. Alternatively, you could hire seats out. If you can afford new seats: Just get new seats. Straightforward and safest. More on reddit.com

Does anyone have this car seat? I'm concerned that the harness seems too wide/broad at the shoulders and that the hip harness is too low for my 6 month old. This is a convertible car seat, so it should technically fit a little dude.
We just moved up from the Chicco KeyFit 30 infant seat and that one fit so snug that this one has me concerned.

For the shoulders, the clip should be at armpit level (my Marathon manual says nipple height, but who can see nipples?). The hip harness... we never really saw problems with. If you're adjusting the shoulder straps to go into the back of the seat below shoulder level, the tightning strap between the legs should hit pretty right. http://carseatblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/08/CTMAJackfront.jpg Hope the visual helps. IIRC it landed more flat against the thigh, than against the trunk/pelvis.
