In the 80s, especially, women and men would both be referred to as “fine” which connoted a certain degree of prettiness. Jon Bon Jovi and Simon Le Bon of Duran Duran are good examples of guys who were “fine.” For example, “Did you see Rob Lowe in that movie? He is sooooo fine.” Also in the 80s pretty guys could be referred to as being “a fox.” “Foxy” was also in use, but I feel that was mostly reserved for women.
