Does anyone know where I can repair my beat up old CG? I bought it in 2008 and it carried me through college but the knit cuffs and zipper pull are shot (along with a lot of wear on the sleeves). I’d love for it to be my throw around coat as it’s still warm and has a lot of life left. It’s way out of the lifetime warranty window and I’m happy to some money back into it to get it back to life but no local tailors will deal with it. Thanks!

r/CanadaGoose on Reddit: Repair Options / Alternatives?

I have a long knee-length winter parka I love from late 2019, where the ZIPPER just broke --making it, well, unusable because it won't close.

Quick online search says the turn around time sending it in to Canada Goose for repairs is at least a month (4+ weeks), but potentially longer...

Given it's already early October in Canada, and will get cold very soon --are there any alternatives that are recommended?

Expedited service? Recommended tailors?

I appreciate there will be added costs, etc, it's just being without my only winter coat for so long and needing it is the concern.

r/CanadaGoose on Reddit: Canada Goose Warranty
January 28, 2022 -

Hello! I recently submitted my jacket for a warranty claim as I’m having an issue with the down of the jacket. They inspected the jacket and listed items in warranty that need to be repaired, including stitching. When it came to the down, they acknowledge there is thinning but said it’s normal due to the age of the jacket. I’m wondering how this can be since the other items are included in warranty but this is the one that is expected due to age?

Has anyone experienced their warranty department before? I’ve tried calling and responding to emails but am not getting much of a response other than generic messaging.

r/CanadaGoose on Reddit: Repair - Langford Parka
November 22, 2021 -

Hi folks,

i recently sent my langford parka to the canada goose repair facility. I started a case on their website, and i found the cleaning policy. So i had the parka at the cleaning facility (standard one, not canada goose certified).

I picked it up from celaning and had to send it from germany to some address in portugal.

Shipping was quite fast. But the status on the warranty website did not change for quite some time.

Now i recieved a mail that they have to send it out for cleaning due to some health regulations and they want me to cover the costs.

So is it just me or does anyone else think that this is a little bit sketchy and bad service for a brand that sells their pieces for 1000€ + ?

See attached photos for the damage. (stitching loose, fluffy part of the velcro fasterner loose)Do you guys think they can repair that? And will they repair it under warranty? The parka is like 8 month old, and i havent worn it much.

thank you so much for the discussion and all of your thoughts.

best wishes for the upcomming new year from germany

r/CanadaGoose on Reddit: Canada Goose won’t warranty my Lodge Hoody. Any advice?
November 19, 2022 -

Purchased a Frost Grey Lodge Hoody in September 2021 (so just over a year old). This is my 8th CG Parka. I have a nice little collection going.

I noticed right where I zip it up it’s wearing extremely bad already. Like there’s a hole in it.

Lifetime warranty. It’s all good right?

I washed it according to CGs instructions and dropped it off at my local CG store. They shipped it off and about 3 weeks later I got an email saying they needed to clean it and I would be charged a fee for this. Ok…

Now that’s it been cleaned they sent me an email saying the following:

“These damages were determined to have been caused by accident, and while we do recognize that accidents can happen, they are not covered under warranty. Although not covered; tears, rips, or other damage to your Canada Goose product can be serviced through our repairs department for a reasonable cost. While we will always do our best to repair them to working condition, the aforementioned damages can not be repaired even at a cost.”

I paid over $700, it’s a year old and it’s already falling apart. I have 2 other Lodge parkas that are perfect (they are a few years older).

Any thoughts on what I can do?

r/CanadaGoose on Reddit: Canada Goose Warranty Repairs ruined my jacket. HELP!
September 25, 2023 -

I sent my jacket to be repaired and when it came back it looked even worse, so they asked me to send it back again and now they are only repairing the hole they made in the sleeve. What can I do? It makes me so sad that the jacket looks awful now and I hardly got to wear it in the first place.

For context, here is the original warranty claim when I first sent it:

“Hello, I have been noticing issues with my Canada Goose jacket. My partner & I both got similar jackets at the same time, his being the Crofton Hoodie and mine being the Cypress Hooded Jacket, both in the same colour and they look like the same type of fabric to me. We purchased these for a couple of trips due to their features like the backpack straps and being able to make them compact in their little attached bags. We’ve worn both of ours pretty close to an equal amount of time, so I would estimate about 3 weeks total of wear since we bought them. His still looks brand new, but mine (despite always being careful with any high end item I own) is snagging throughout the fabric and stitching is coming apart. The snags in the fabric are the worst on the right sleeve, and it looks like the pulls are continuing to travel up the fabric in the sleeve. There is also a snag on the front of the jacket toward the bottom centre, and there is a stitch that has come apart at the back of the jacket. Considering the similarities between our jackets and the fact that we’ve both worn them for approximately equal amounts of time (mostly only on two trips) I think there might be some kind of defect with the fabric of my jacket. Is it possible to repair it or exchange it for a new one? Thank you for your help. “

They offered to repair the stitching for free, and I paid $84 for a patch repair on the sleeve and on the front. I was assured the repairs would be seamless before I proceeded withe approving them. Here is the email I sent customer service after I got the jacket back:

“Hello again,

I hope this email finds you well.

I just received my jacket from UPS, and I am very disappointed with the repairs and how the jacket looks now. It looks worse than when I sent it in, and frankly I would not have proceeded with the “patches” if I knew this was what the end result would be. When I noticed on the list of repairs that Canada Goose was requesting payment for a “patch repair” on the sleeve and on the front of the jacket, I emailed you right away to ask what this would mean. I specifically asked if that meant that they would sew another piece of fabric on top of the areas that needed repair, and was assured in your response that no this would not be the case. I was told that the affected portions (which I took to meant the whole piece of fabric from that section - ie. The whole piece you would cut out from a pattern) would be replaced and that the repair would be seamless. The repair is far from seamless.

First of all, the patches that were put onto the jacket are a different color and finish than the rest of the jacket. You can clearly see the difference in color between the one rectangle on the jacket that was sewed onto the sleeve and the two pieces next to it. Even worse, since it cannot be hidden under my arm, the front right side of the jacket is a very obviously different color than the front left side due to the patch that was put onto the front.

Secondly, the stitching is shockingly bad for what was sold to me as a “seamless repair”. On the sleeve, you can see at least two lines of stitching and part of a third line of stitching (which I would assume would be from the backstitching on the machine) where the patch was put on. The worst part of the sleeve patch is that the corner is not sewed up completely. When I first looked at it I thought it was just really poorly done backstitching and finishing since there is a clump of threads sticking out everywhere from that corner, but upon closer inspection I noticed that it is actually not even fully sewed shut. That clump of threads in the corner is the stitching coming apart and creating a little hole in the sleeve where the newly added patch meets the cuff. On the front of the jacket, the stitching of the patch is not much better. From the start of that patch, which is midway on that section of fabric at the waist of the jacket, you can see where it has been unevenly sewed on with parts of the original stitching peaking through underneath the new piece that has been folded and stitched on top. Throughout that whole piece, there are threads coming out all along the length of the zipper on that side where the piece has been added on. At the bottom of the patch, it’s like they stopped and restarted several times as there isn’t a single even line of stitching, there are at least 6 long ends of thread sticking out from it, and the backstitching starts going in an upwards direction on one side.

Finally, the patch is not aligned correctly. The quilting of the jacket lines up perfectly even between the left and right side from the top of the zipper up until you get to where the patch was placed. The misalignment between the quilting on the two sides starts by being off by about 1/4” in difference in height and then progressively gets worse toward the bottom of the patch. By the top of the second quilt from the bottom of the patch, the difference in height between the quilts on the left and right side is about 1/2”. I’m not sure what looks worse, the fact that the front of the jacket is now two different colors or that the lines of the quilting do not match up anymore. The patch on the sleeve is also misaligned from the seam of the cuff by about 1/4”, compared to the left sleeve which is aligned perfectly.

Please let me know what can be done to rectify this.

I appreciate you taking the time to read through this and hopefully come up with a solution for what has happened.

Thank you”

They responded with:

“Thank you for reaching out to us.

We apologize that you have had a negative experience with our warranty program and understand that this can be frustrating.

Our Quality Assurance Team are expert in determining the condition of our jackets and ensuring that every product meets our high standards of craftsmanship.

We understand that you are still concerned with the appearance of the garment. You are welcome to create a new case and re-submit your garment for a second inspection by our Quality Assurance team.

We cannot guarantee that the results will differ, but if you choose to do so, please ensure to reference your past case number in the new case description. This way our warranty team will have the complete context of your case.

Once you have been assigned a new case number, you are welcome to reach out to us for a complimentary return label. Your patience is sincerely appreciated.

Warmest regards,

Your Canada Goose Customer Care Team”

And I responded:

“Hello again,

As requested by you, I have created a new case for the jacket and referenced the old case number in the description for the new case. The new case number is ********.

I’m not sure if you looked through the photos I sent in my previous email, but responding that you cannot guarantee the results will differ is alarming. For a company that purports themselves as a luxury brand and claims to have high standards of craftsmanship, this repair is anything but. Your experts will see this “repair” that created a hole in the sleeve, quilting that no longer lines up and a jacket that is now two different colours. The high quality jacket I so gladly invested in last year was returned to me looking like a poor quality knock off. Instead of being a beautifully done piece of craftsmanship as it was when I bought it, it now looks cheap and badly put together. Please fix this.

I appreciate your time and assistance with this.”

I sent the jacket back, it was received by repairs and the only thing on the list of repairs is “Stitching - Re-stitch holes”. I emailed them back to ask if any other repairs are being done but they haven’t responded. Any advice on what I can do about this?

Attached are photos from when I got it back from repairs and before I sent it in.

I spent £120 to have my coat dry cleaned so that it could be sent into Canada Goose to repair the little wear and tear cuts on the coat.

Canada Goose won't even look at coats without Jeeves dry cleaning 🤷‍♀️ So off I went. The dry cleaners told me that my coat is in fabulous condition 😊

The staff at Canada Goose Oxford Street assured me that the repairs would be covered under the warranty given my coat is in excellent condition. Worst comes to the worst, Canada Goose would charge me for the repairs, if not covered under warranty.

I'm pretty surprised by this reply.

Doesn't sound like Canada Goose stand by their products at all!

Lesson learnt, I hope this is helpful for others too.

These coats unfortunately are not built to last and the brand won't stand behind them either.

Hi Sharon,

We hope this email finds you well.

Our Quality Assurance Team performed a thorough inspection of your Mystique Parka. The results indicate that the jacket is over eight years old and appears to have been heavily worn. As a result, the issues mentioned are considered normal wear and tear, which falls outside of our warranty coverage.

Since no repairs are required, we will request the coat to be returned to you at our expense within ten (10) days upon your approval of this email. The address we have on file is:

We understand that this may not be the outcome you were hoping for, but we want you to know that we conducted a thorough inspection before coming to this conclusion. Your patience and understanding are greatly appreciated.

If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Warmest regards,
Your Canada Goose Customer Care Team

Over the years Canada Goose's warranty has gotten worse. When the company first started the warranty was lifetime replacement regardless of what happened, the jacket was marketed to the outdoors person and sold at places like bass pro shop.

Now I am responsible for shpping the jacket to them and the warranty barely covers anything anymore. What a joke, you're supposed to spend over a grand on a jacket and this is the service you receive.

Absolute joke.

r/CanadaGoose on Reddit: Beware Canada Goose Warranty: My 2-Year Saga
November 18, 2025 -

I wanted to share my experience with Canada Goose’s warranty process, because it has been shockingly bad for a $2,000 jacket that’s supposed to last years.

Timeline / Story:

• Dec 2023 – I bought a Canada Goose Mystique Parka. • Jan 2024 – Within weeks I noticed cold air leaking through the arm seams. The coat was basically new. Canada Goose told me the coat needed a “1–6 month break-in period for the feathers to settle.” It never improved.

• Feb 2025 – The internal hanger loop ripped out of the seam, and the seams were still leaking cold air. I submitted a warranty claim. They told me I’d have to pay shipping and possible cleaning fees — ridiculous for a garment at this price point.

I didn’t want to be without a winter coat for months, so I waited until fall.

• Oct 2025 – I finally sent the coat in. While packing it, I noticed a very small tear (about 1/4”) and some light scratch marks on the fabric. I don’t remember how it happened — maybe my dog. I called Canada Goose beforehand, explained I knew the small tear was accidental damage, and asked if they could patch it while they had my coat. I said I’d happily pay. The rep said they’d “add a note to the file.”

• Once they got the coat, I was told I had to pay a cleaning fee. Fine.

• Then I got an email saying all damage was “accidental” and none of it would be repaired — including the seam leaks that were present since month one.

After pushing back (a lot), they eventually said they would repair my coat “as a gesture of goodwill.” But their emails were template-like, vague, and never addressed anything directly.

So I asked for clarification on what exactly they planned to repair.

That’s when things got bizarre.

• Out of nowhere, they suddenly claimed there was “tar” on my coat. This was never mentioned in initial inspection, and I’ve never seen anything resembling tar on it.

I asked for photo evidence and a direct contact number for someone handling my case.

And then… they just stopped responding completely. After weeks of near-daily emails, silence the moment I asked for proof.

So to recap: • Seam leaks denied. • Hanger loop tearing out denied. • Small tear I offered to pay for ignored. • “Tar” magically appears only after I questioned them. • No evidence provided. • No real contact person. • Template emails that avoid every direct question. • Now radio silence.

For a brand that markets itself on premium craftsmanship and lifetime quality, this has been the worst customer service I have ever experienced.

Does anybody know any company i can go to for reliable third party repairs? I’ve already contacted CG themselves to see if they would do repairs to my coat for money, but i’m waiting to hear back from them. If not, does anyone know a reliable and trusty company? Thanks! (Preferably companies that are able to do down refills also, as the coats not got as much life as it used to)

Between the insane price hikes year after year, the plunging quality — like jackets literally being stained by rain — and the legalistic bullshit they use to get out of any warranty support, I’ve had enough. I’ll love my old chilliwak bomber for as long as it lasts but will not be doing any more business with this sorry excuse for a company. Peace.
