Multiple Wordpress sites - currently 2, looking to add another, and may increase in the future.

Very low. These are personal use sites only. I don't expect more than 50 unique users per month.

Yes, I'm comfortable administrating Linux servers and VPS/Cloud infrastructure.
Did you read the sidebar/check out the hosts listed there? I've personally vetted these companies and their services are a good fit for 99% of people.
Have read, and I don't think there are any Canadian based hosting companies.
Running two Wordpress sites on Google Cloud on micro VMs with nginx and a local mariadb, and it's costing about $30/month right now. Looking to add a third site, and looking at options to reduce cost and simplify things.
I've been looking at various hosting sites. I'd like to keep all my data in Canada, so I've mainly been focused on providers that have a Canadian datacenter.
I looked at HostPapa but found a lot of stories about them being aggressive on upgrading.
I looked at FullHost but they seem pretty expensive, despite being Canadian based.
I looked at WHC but there was a major data loss incident recently, so I don't feel comfortable going with them.
Other option I'm seriously considering is switching to using GCP Cloud Run, a Cloud SQL instance, and figuring out how to deploy Wordpress in Docker containers. Just not sure how easy it would be to manage and migrate the existing sites, but it would definitely be good practice.
Appreciate any advice or recommendations!

My usual note: If you want to deploy Wordpress somewhere, nearly every practical threat is a Wordpress threat, and it's entirely up to you to deal with that.

Could you expand on your needs a bit more, I own https://wonderproxy.com so I've dealt with quite a few different suppliers. We're currently using Peer 1 to co-locate here in Toronto, network has been great but a few support hiccups setting up. Their Co-location arm ServerBeach also offers Toronto: https://shop.serverbeach.com/cart/
We've also been happy with VPSVille: http://vpsville.ca/ which hosts here in Toronto.
Beyond that, do you need "web hosting", a virtual server", or a full server?
