Do Casper and Nectar have free returns?
Are these beds safe?
I’m mainly a side sleeper and sometimes stomach sleeper. I’m not particularly sure what would be most comfortable for me but I think I prefer the softer side as I’ve been sleeping on a mattress topper from Costco for a long time now and I find that very comfortable.
I'm referring to the Novaform 14” ComfortGrande Advanced Gel Memory Foam Mattress and Casper Cooling Select 12" Memory Foam Mattress
Sharing since I've seen great deals on Novaform and Casper mattresses at Costco for the last couple of months and someone else may be considering. We've purchased both (memory foam versions, not hybrid).
A couple of months ago, we needed to furnish a guest bedroom on a budget. I was pretty skeptical about inexpensive foam mattresses, but we took a gamble on the Novaform 14" mattress for the guest bedroom and were pleasantly surprised with it (guests complimented it more than once, and we slept on it a few times too and were impressed). It's pretty firm (a little too much for my wife), but I thought it was fantastic. The "off-gassing" was genuinely strong from the Novaform and took a week or two before the bedroom didn't have that smell.
Since that ended up being a happy purchase, we started considering doing it again to replace our aging and sinking memory foam mattress. The Casper mattress retails for 150 bucks more than the Novaform, but was on sale for the same price as the Novaform, so we figured it'd be a better choice (plus, my wife wanted something a little softer than the Novaform).
We went for it and bought the Casper mattress for ourselves. We both thought it was way too soft, and were thinking about returning it after night 1, but we're certainly going to now after 3 nights.
We sink in worse than our 7 year old mattress, we're both sore and tired. I weigh like 180 pounds, and if I sit at the end of the bed, I'm almost sitting on the box spring. We have to lay as far as we can away from each other not to sink/roll towards the middle.
If you've got 400-500 bucks to spend on a mattress and are looking at Casper or Novaform, I'd recommend Novaform. My wife found it a little too firm but was otherwise happy, and we both immediately knew the Casper wasn't gonna stick around. We're gonna be sleeping in the guest bedroom tonight on the Novaform while we wait to return the Casper 😂
