Current phone is on the verge of death and new one is required. I am planing to purchase a phone outright. I have a Grandfathered plan that I will not give up. Bring your own phone will allow me to keep this plan. Order a phone from Apple? Walk into Best Buy?
Any suggestions are appreciated.
...besides the apple store. I'm looking to get one of the earlier but more recent models (probably 13), which should be getting cheaper now that 14's out. Where can I find some that are relatively cheaper? I found some on Best Buy, but some prices are still higher than expected.
(Not looking to get it through an agreement with monthly payments, and needs to be unlocked)
I currently have iPhone 12 valued at 190 for trade in by Apple and my phone plan is 35 a month and I don’t have any complains for it unless it can get $5-10 cheaper lol.
I’m considering to buy iPhone 17 or 17 pro and am wondering if I should buy the unlocked version from Apple with my trade in or wait for a carrier deal later in the year during Black Friday.
I have always bought unlocked phones because I felt with the phone plans they bump up the phone plan and offer you some credit for the phone but overall it might cost more than buying the unlocked version. However, I have not seriously compared what kind of deals are available by the carriers so I might be wrong. I would like to stick with bell/telus/rogers or their cheaper options virgin/koodo/fido
My current phone plan of $35 is a BYOD plan so if I choose to finance a new device I’ll be forced to pick a new plan which will cost more for sure.
Was wondering if anyone has done the math comparing the two scenarios during Black Friday deals or should I continue buying the unlocked phone. Appreciate your inputs!
Hi,
Mainly been an Android user here but am looking to make the switch to iPhone and PM at the same time.
Having never really paid much attention to iPhone in Canada realizing that there aren't many places to find them refurb/open box. I'm always on the lookout for good deals I can't not pass up, even if I have the cash on hand, mostly.
I found a few at Mobileklinik. Best buy although I don't trust many things that are refurb from there on the best buy third party marketplace, and Apple itself. Am I missing anywhere?
I feel like once I push past the $800 mark I might as well just bite the bullet and get the iPhone 15 brand new and just keep it for 5 years. Is this a bad decision? I understand everyone is different but just don't want to rush into one I may regret.
I'm specifically looking for 256 gb varients.
Apple's refurbished website has a lot of 12 pros. Would they be worth it at this point for around $300 less than the regular 15, which I feel like is almost a smaller 14 pro.
Does anyone have experience with any of these refurb websites?
Any help / insight and tips from PM iPhone users is appreciated.
Regardless I'm super excited to get in on this. Already this community has been very welcoming and gave fantastic info. I appreciate yall.
Hey everyone,
With Black Friday approaching, I'm looking to upgrade to a new iPhone 12/13/14 or 15. I'm wondering what would be considered the cheapest overall way to buy a new (not used) phone? Would it be by buying the phone outright from a store like Apple, Best Buy, etc. in order to get cheaper BYOD phone plans? Or by buying the phone through a phone plan carrier and paying it off monthly? Or those 'Bring it Back after 2 years' promotions through the carriers?
For context, I'll also be switching phone carriers on Black Friday because Koodo is giving me issues. Not sure if that info helps at all.
Thank you in advance!
Does anyone have any experience with purchasing an unlocked phone in the Ottawa area? Somewhere with stock on-site and good prices? Thank you in advance
