The Truth About Buying a Piano from "Big Box" Retailers - Riverton Piano Blog
June 2, 2024 - …but – outside of a Yamaha Road Show (where they do offer some very nice instruments) – here’s what you’re likely to find at CostCo: The Roland FRP-1. It claims to have a hammer-weighted action and Bluetooth connectivity, so that’s good. …but it has tiny speakers in a cheap plastic cabinet so it sounds more like a toy keyboard than an actual piano.

Hey all, looking to get into playing the piano and costco has a Roland Nuvola piano for $599 at my location. Havent been able to find many reviews over this piano but its seems like it could be a good deal. What do you guys think?

EDIT: Finally got the piano! It sounds well and the build seems sturdy. Thanks for your input and helping me make a decision. Any tips for beginners? Hoping to learn the keys in a decent amount of time, not my first time playing/reading music(Clarinet was my first) so hopefully learning to read piano wont take so long Link to photo

July 10, 2024 -

I just got Costco’s new Roland RFP-Nuvola bundle. It does seem like a variation of the FP-30X, with subtle cosmetic variations and small internal differences e.g. a slightly different song/sound list and upgraded Bluetooth (v5.0). I recommend comparing the user manuals on Roland’s website to see the details.

I think the stand and pedal bar look great! Note that the bundle’s bench does not have storage.

Wish me luck — starting lessons this week!

[Costco] Costco - Yamaha P-S500 Digital Piano w/ Stand - $999.99 - RedFlagDeals.com Forums
March 23, 2025 - At $524 the casio has weighted keys that may not be quite as realistic as the yamaha, but will not affect their learning/enjoyment for years to come. My kids have learned on a similar casio for a while and it's fine - in fact it's very similar to what is used in the teaching school. Buy from Costco, not used on facebook, in case of mechanical/electronic issues. We had to return our first keyboard when a key stopped responding.

Answer (1 of 2): Hi David I don’t know, but unless they can source and rebrand from a good quality manufacturer, I doubt they would be particularly good. I suggest you try alternatives by Nord, Yamaha, Kawai and Korg as comparisons with the Costco one. Those brands seem to have wide accepance b...

r/DigitalPiano on Reddit: Comparing the Roland Costco models on sale now
December 10, 2024 -

Hi all,

Can someone tell me more about the Roland pianos on sale at Costco currently? There are three I am looking at:

FRP Nuvola $599 on sale

https://www.costco.com/roland-frp-nuvola-digital-piano-bundle.product.4000278347.html

CPF-107 $1199 on sale

https://www.costco.com/roland-cpf-107-contemporary-digital-piano-bundle.product.4000100633.html

RP750 $899 on sale:

https://www.costco.com/roland-rp750-digital-piano-bundle.product.4000229276.html

They all appear to be bundles and include the same things, but please correct me if I'm wrong. Since they are Costco specific models, it's been hard to find good information on these. Also, I'd like to know the technical differences between these as well as how they sound and play. Many thanks!
