Can Trump's decision to place caps on credit card rates spur saving by reducing household consumption?
Non-approved user here, although I do use a credit card. When I heard this, I assumed entities that issue credit cards would just cancel cards for people who are higher risk of not paying their debt. Credit cards would only be available to affluent users. That would push more people to other short term lenders (pay day loans and similar) with the same or worse rates. Is that a reasonable prediction? More on reddit.com

Trump pushes a 1-year, 10% cap on credit card interest rates and banks balk
This mostly just bans credit cards for people who aren’t profitable to lend to below 10% interest rates. This is also a classic example of Trump moving to the left economically and Fox News Republicans acting like they’ve always been in favor of this kind of thing. More on reddit.com
