Hi Everyone,

I'm in the market for a commercial grade mower. I have about 5+ acres of property with some light slopes and lots of bumps. I'm currently have a cub cadet sx60 with a steering wheel and love it. I've been looking at exmarks and scags, but the place where I got my cub cadet may give me a good trade-in value for mine if I go into a Cub Cadet PRO Z model.

Is anyone familiar with the PRO Z's or have any experience with them?

I have a Pro Z 154S. I got it as a replacement for a 48” residential lap-bar ZTR. I have hills & slopes on my property that were proving problematic for the lap-bar ZTR. The Pro Z handles the hills & slopes much better. The Pro Z is a beast of a machine. Heavy duty deck, frame, & engine. Also has a suspension seat and ROPS. Compared to the lap bar ZTR, it has a higher top speed, bigger wheels, and a suspension seat. Which allows faster mowing over rough ground. I’m pretty sure it had been used commercially, and not maintained. It was a bit of a basket case. I just had a deck spindle go bad at 400 hrs. I’m pretty sure it had never been greased. 400 hrs of commercial use without service. The spindles have to be pretty durable for that. Really my only complaints are, zero-turn, u-turns are difficult on concrete or asphalt. It doesn’t have power steering. And it’s not the easiest to work on.

The steering wheel turns just as sharp and is just as maneuverable as the lap-bar setup. I still can’t believe I can make turns while mowing around trees on some of the steepest sections on my property.
