My little 42in Ariens finally kicked the bucket after a decade. I've had 0 problems with it until now. Decided to replace it at this point.
I ordered a Cub Cadet LT46 mostly for the Kohler 7000 and the fact that Home Depot is my only option out here for delivery. I've read all the reviews I could find (mostly by people that have used it a few times).
Can anyone tell me are better or worse than the other choices from HD? I still have a few days to cancel it. I'm kinda freaked out ever since I learned they're owned by MTD. If delivery wasn't an issue I'd have probably got a Husqvarna. Any input from the experts or owners would be greatly appreciated.

9 year LT1046, 2 sets of head gaskets (Kohler Courage line), multiple spindles (poor design compared to John Deere). Cracked welds on deck, slipping transaxel, brocken pedal bushings, cracked seat welds. Watch this video. If HD is your only option, go with one of MTDs' other brands, either Troybuilt or Yardman, and save some money. I have 2 friends with similar age and size JDs, and neither has had the problems my Cub has had. If there are any independent dealers near you, most will price match, but more important is the prep they will do. I have the cub cadet you mentioned for a similar yard and I love it. I’ve had very few issues with it as long as I keep on top of maintenance. The only surprise issue we had was because of a surprise mouse nest we couldn’t see. More on reddit.com

Both my neighbors have this exact model and love it. I work on both, blade sharpening, oil changes etc… There’s nothing wrong with test driving it before you buy it. If there’s nothing wrong with it then the seller should be more than happy to do that. More on reddit.com

I just bought the XT1 LT50 and I love it so far. It’s got a fabricated deck, not a stamped deck. It’s got the push button to engage for the blades and not the lever that moves a pulley. It’s got reverse mowing. Also it’s got a twin cylinder 24 HP Kohler 7000 series motor that I did some research on and they are supposed to be good motors, couldn’t really find anything negative about ‘em. I haven’t had it long but it seems to be a fine machine and I’m happy with it. More on reddit.com
