Is the hue too light for these colors? What other colors would suit best? I've got a red-white-black squares (I don't know the name of the pattern) button shirt, a grey polo shirt, an air force blue jacket and navy blue cardigan. Another question, is the hue of the khaki of chino pants important? I've got a feeling the one i just bought is too light

The color of the khakis will work with any of those you mentioned. the khaki is a neutral color, so its easy to play with colors (blue and red) but also with darker shades (gray and black) anything can work with that color really except colors that are lighter than that, as it looks off without that contrast of shades

For casual wear, if I’m not grabbing a pair of jeans, then I’m usually grabbing some chinos. Nearly all my chinos (J Crew, Buck Mason, OrSlow, etc) are a shade of olive green. I’d like to mix it up with some chinos in other colors. Not interested in Navy.
So that leaves khaki. I particularly have my eye on the J Crew Classic Chinos in “stone” which is a light khaki.
Whenever I think of khakis I think of the gap from the 90s and looking like a Target or Best Buy worker.
Any tips on how to pair khakis or make them somewhat fashionable? Inspo pics would be cool too.

I like to think of khakis as a blank canvas. As long as your silhouettes are coherent, you can wear almost anything you want with them. I wear my 50s army khakis with fleeces, vintage flannels, and my Lee 101j. I wear my vintage PRL creme khakis with jackets and ties. Buy a pair in a silhouette that you wear the most, and just start experimenting.
