I've used the G.SKILL TridentZ DDR4 with it, and I think that RAM is taller - so you should be fine with Ripjaws.

These are supposed to be quite good, and would certainly be a better buy than say, a U14S, but considering that you can still get a Frost Spirit RGB for like $41 there's very little to recommend this unless you have some kind of RAM clearance condition.

Hi guys, built my first PC a couple of years ago and have upgraded it once already. Recently was given a new DeepCool AS500 CPU cooler by a family member as I've been looking for a new one, because my current one (don't know the brand, it's some random Chinese one and it's the only component where I didn't spend loads of time picking it) overlaps my RAM slots.
I currently have Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro RAM on an Aorus Z490 Elite AC motherboard and would like to upgrade to get more RAM, but I can't right now because of the CPU cooler. The new cooler was quite pricey, but because I didn't buy it I'm not sure if it will fit. I'm also not sure if the motherboard makes a difference.
So, my question is does anyone have experience with this? I'm really hoping it allows me to have a RAM upgrade, not that I currently need one but for the future.

If it overlaps your RAM slots then its probably something like a Peerless Assassin, which is considerably better than an AS500.
If anything, any air cooler that covers your RAM slots should be a dual tower. Which will be better than an AS500 anyways. You can still use 4 sticks, just use lower profile RAM instead.
But yeah, an AS500 should be clear of the RAM.
It is quite tall though, so you'll need to make sure your case will fit it

I have the as500 plus and have no issues with 100% ram clearance as the front fan sits just in front of the closest ram slot. It’s my favorite air cooler and I prefer single towers any day for this reason. The only exception would be the Fuma 3
