OK I just imaged my Precision 5530 and specifically used the USB-C Network adapter to do it, the TB16 wouldnt work. Once you boot into PXE if you have F8 support enabled then press F8 and ipconfig and see if you have an IP. Im guessing you dont, if you do, then do a diskpart and list disk to see if your hdd/ssd is shown. You may need to included nvme drivers drivers. What kind of ssd do you have and what is the disk set as in the bios, Raid, AHCI? More on reddit.com

I am a Ceng student at university and planing to buy a laptop to use at my 3-4 year university career and maybe at future freelance jobs. I am looking for second hand laptops and found this laptop. It has i9-8950hk processor do you think it is enough for ceng student in 2024?

Not entirely sure what “Ceng” is but Precision laptops are excellent for engineering students. I personally am studying civil engineering and I have a 5540, so just a slightly newer model than this one. Mine also only has an i7, but i’ve never felt like it was slow/ caused any bottleneck, so the i9 should work wonderfully. What GPU does it have? Oh, RAM and storage are replaceable/upgradeable in these laptops which is a huge plus.
