XPS 13 LED code not on the diagnostic list
If you have the option for mail in service I would highly recommend it here. 1-4 isn't a valid No POST code. Combine that with the other issues you are having and diags finding nothing wrong, trying to do an onsite repair here will be very hard because they have nothing to work with. Depot would be your best friend here. More on reddit.com

Dell XPS 15 9520 indicator light has 4 amber flashes and 6 white flashes, what does it mean?
On a Dell XPS 15, the 4 amber and 6 white flashing LED pattern indicates a CPU failure according to Dell’s diagnostic LED error codes. Possible Causes & Fixes: 1️⃣ Power Cycle the Laptop (Quick Fix) • Step 1: Unplug the charger. • Step 2: Hold the power button for 30 seconds to drain residual power. • Step 3: Plug it back in and try to turn it on. 2️⃣ Reseat the RAM • If the CPU isn’t dead, the error could be bad RAM or improper seating. • Try removing and reinserting the RAM. 3️⃣ Reset BIOS (CMOS Reset) • If the issue started after a BIOS update or overclocking, resetting the CMOS might help. • On some Dell XPS models, you can do this by removing the battery and holding the power button for 30 seconds. 4️⃣ Check for Overheating or Dust • If your laptop has been running hot, the CPU might be throttling or failing. • Clean out dust from the fans and heatsinks if possible. 5️⃣ Motherboard or CPU Failure (Worst Case) • If the above steps don’t work, the CPU or motherboard may be faulty. • If under warranty, contact Dell Support for a repair. ⸻ Next Steps: Try power cycling first. If that doesn’t work, reseat the RAM and reset the BIOS. If the issue persists, you may need a repair or motherboard replacement. Has anything changed recently (e.g., BIOS update, overheating, new RAM)? More on reddit.com

Dell XPS 13 9343 error codes
Best I could find for the 9343 was beep codes here: https://www.dell.com/support/kbdoc/en-uk/000130351/how-to-use-and-troubleshoot-the-xps-13-9343#Computer_Fails_to_Start The documentation doesn't seem to have flash codes anywhere but I did find some generic XPS ones somewhere but for the life of me cannot see them now. If I find them will post. So frustrating that Dell never seems to have published the codes for this model. Having problems with my own 9343. Good luck. More on reddit.com

r/Dell on Reddit: XPS 13 LED code not on the diagnostic list
May 8, 2021 -

Dell XPS 9310, 5 months old. Within the "premium warranty" period.

Today I have started to get various different error codes, none of which are on the recognised LED diagnostic code list.

The first was 4 amber 1 white (but in quick succession i.e. no pause). It did this for a while and everything seemed normal including several reboots without issue.

Then, a couple of hours later, it changed to just flashing amber. Now it would say "no battery detected" whether plugged in or not. Can still reboot with no issue and performance seems fine.

Now, an hour or so later, it has changed again to alternating between amber and white. It detects the battery again (at 65%), although when plugged in it just says "plugged in" rather than "plugged in, charging".

What gives? I tried the online diagnostics tool and it finds nothing wrong. I opened a ticket on the WhatsApp chat function (I am in UK) and they said "connecting to an Expert" but now it has been silent for 5 hours even if I send it further messages.

This site shows LED error codes for the XPS 13 2-in-1, and I'm guessing the codes are the same on the XPS 13 7350:  Here are the codes from the site: LED Error Codes Amber/White Error 2/1 CPU Failure 2/2 System board, BIOS or ROM failure 2/3 No RAM detected 2/4 RAM failure 2/5 Invalid RAM installed 2/6 System board or chipset error 2/7 LCD failure 3/1 CMOS battery failure 3/2 PCI or video card or chip failure 3/3 Recovery image not found 3/4 Recovery image found but not accessible With 2 amber/7 white, it looks like the OP is getting a report of an LCD failure. My guess is that the test is just getting an incorrect result triggered by the given on/off/open/close sequence.

MOBIDUTCH, The front LED indicates the battery charge state. White Battery is getting charged. Amber Battery is low or critical. Off Computer is plugged in and the battery is fully charged. I am assuming you heard about all of this directly from the phone technician.  I checked to see if there was further diagnostic indicators and I didn't find any listed anywhere. There where a number of diagnostic beep codes for the notebook One Possible system board failure - BIOS ROM checksum failure Two No RAM detected. Three Possible system board failure - Chipset error Four RAM read/write failure Five Real Time Clock failure Six Video card or chip failure Seven Processor failure Eight Display failure Did you notice any beep codes when this happens or only the LED flashing? I don't think that there is anything wrong with the system but I will be shooting you a friend request incase something further happens.   TB

I've had the laptop about 3 years now. I had the motherboard replaced about a year ago. It's been working fine, but today the light started flashing yellow 4 times then white 6 times. Does this mean the battery is shot, or something is wrong with the BIOS?

All the code guides I've seen online only talk about 3 amber flashes, not 4. Have I discovered a new Dell laptop error code? Lol

r/Dell on Reddit: Dell XPS 13 9343 error codes
October 7, 2021 -

Hello!

I have a XPS 13 9343 that refuses to boot, only beeping and flashing the light at the front before it spins it's fan and powers off. This laptop has been fine since I purchase back in 2015, right up until two weeks ago when it started doing this. This makes me sad.

Does anyone know how I can diagnose the issue at hand?

Things I have already tried:

  • Disconnected and reconnected both the main battery and CMOS battery

  • Replaced the CMOS battery with a known good one

Here is a video of the laptop starting up with the light show and beeps:

Any help is appreciated.
