There is no real time tracking on the light rail which is what enables the ghost trains. Real time tracking is difficult to add in, because the project would involved all the switches and signals, and just spiral into something massive. Heavy rail is more modern, they should have a Google feed. The busses are easy. These dispatching systems are all built around Google Maps. The Google data here is probably really close to the master location data files RTD uses internally. Google compatibility is at the core of most bus technology tools. There’s occasionally brief lapses of time in the past where RTD’s real-time reporting to Google went down but it feels like Google Maps hasn’t had the information for a long time.

The real time schedule has been pretty inaccurate for a few months it seems. Will show 2 minutes for the D line to arrive, then I run to the station only for it to be 8 minutes until the next train arrives. The actual scheduled time is more accurate (and even that is all over the place). I just made my first Reddit account because this has been bugging me for years. Does anyone know why RTD and B-cycle don't superimpose the city under their maps? It always confuses the hell out of people visiting me.
